Notes

  • In goal, Matt Freese will be my primary goalkeeper providing he continues to start ahead of Luis Barraza.
  • With no viable single gameweek options this week, I will likely pivot to Zac MacMath as my fallback goalkeeper should Freese concede against Orlando, with RSL also having two home games.
  • In defence, I have paired Freese and MacMath with Thiago Martins and Justen Glad. Both of whom are bonus point magnets.
  • Dany Rosero also makes my team by virtue of his bonus point generation and two home fixtures. Although I am less of confident of a clean sheet given the calibre of SKC’s opponents.
  • Brooks Lennon is my final defensive pick, with Dave Romney a single gameweek fallback. Lennon has some of the best offensive stats among defenders. He has also posted three goals and three assists in his last nine games, including a 15-point haul in Round 25.
  • Zac McGraw and Julian Gressel – mainly for his offensive potential – are also worthy of consideration.
  • In midfield, Thiago Almada, Lionel Messi and Riqui Puig were among the first players I added to my team. One of Almada or Messi (providing he can avoid rotation) likely to be my Round 26 captain.
  • Lucho Acosta is also back from suspension this week and is my ‘downside protection’ pick. Despite a tricky first fixture away to Montreal, it’s difficult to bet against Cincinnati and Acosta, in particular, on current form.
  • My final midfield pick is up for grabs. Evander delivered on favourable fixtures in Round 25 and, with Portland also playing twice at home in Round 26, I think he could do well again. However, the likes of Emmanuel Reynoso and Santi Rodríguez, as a differential pick, are also in my thoughts.
  • Upfront, Chicho Arango, Cucho Hernández and Alan Pulido were all fairly straightforward selections for me. I’d be surprised if they didn’t get at least 3-4 goal involvements between them across the double gameweek given their form and fixtures. Monsef Bakrar and Giorgos Giakoumakis are also possible differentials.

Notes

  • I hit 117 points and a red arrow to 1374 as I missed some Int’l missing players.
  • There is a good DGW this week with lots of good options.
  • I am staying away from IM unless we get Messi updates.
  • I will scrub Gonzalez and Edwards in DEF/GK if needed after seeing the first games.

Notes

  • Steve Clark will be my DGW goalkeeper this week with matchups against the Whitecaps and SKC.
  • My fallback will be Revs’ Earl Edwards Jr as I don’t love any of the late DGW goalkeepers.
  • In defence, Brooks Lennon, Alvaro Barreal and Kai Wagner will most likely be in my team due to their attacking potential. They will also most likely be ‘chalk’ picks this week.
  • Jordi Alba has been in my team every round since MLS returned to action after leagues cup. That’s not likely to change this week with Inter Miami having two good matchups.
  • Zac McGraw is my last defender with two home matchups. He’s also good for bonus points.
  • Luciano Acosta, Thiago Almada and Héctor Herrera are all locks in midfield this week.
  • I’ve also included Evander due to Portland’s two home matchups this week and Lionel Messi who missed out completely last round, the latter is also likely to be my captain this week.
  • Diego Rossi of Columbus Crew is also in my thoughts should he start on Wednesday night.
  • Cucho Hernandez is a lock for me upfront after continuing to impress last round against Orlando with a goal and an assist.
  • My other two forwards are currently Alan Pulido and Christian Arango with both of them having two home matchups this round.

Notes

  • I will wait and see how the NYC pans out in the early games, and if Freese ($6.5m) does well, then I will scrub my current starting ‘keeper Bingham ($7m).
  • Rosero ($9.8m), Lennon ($12.7m) and Gressel ($9.7m) will join a scrub in my defence, with Wagner ($11.2m) sitting on my bench.
  • The line-up in midfield will consist of Thommy ($9.3m), Almada ($14.2m), Evander ($10.2m) and Messi ($14.8m).
  • The latter is touch and go for me, so I will monitor the Miami line-up on Wednesday to see if he starts.
  • If he does, then he will more than likely be my captain – even if he does get rested at the weekend.
  • Espinoza ($13.4m) is my final midfielder, who will be a sub. Up front, I will have a scrub and Cucho ($12m), with the in-form Campana ($6.8m) taking up the last bench spot.
