Notes
- Austin and Houston look to be the standout teams for clean sheet opportunities this week. This is why I’ve gone for Brad Stuver on the back end of my ‘keeperoo, along with Jon Gallagher and Griffin Dorsey in defence.
- Options for the front end of the ‘keeperoo are less clear cut. All three of NYCFC, Portland and St Louis have a <30% chance of a clean sheet. I’ve gone with Roman Bürki, who I’ve paired with Tomas Totland on my bench, given they play the struggling LA Galaxy.
- Ilay Feingold feels slightly like point chasing after his 31-pointer in the Round 15 DGW, but both he and Kai Wagner should get opportunities for attacking returns in their respective matchups.
- Carles Gil was one of the first players in my team and is in the mix for captaincy this week. Taking a Portland and NYCFC midfielder also seems sensible given their respective opponents’ defensive struggles. Although, I don’t fully trust Hannes Wolf to start him.
- My final two midfield spots are occupied by Hany Mukhtar and Martín Ojeda. The Nashville and Orlando attacks are performing well and both teams have decent matchups, albeit away from home.
- Upfront, I expect Dejan Joveljić to do well against FC Dallas, while João Klauss takes a spot on the bench. St Louis have underwhelmed so far this season but targeting the LA Galaxy defence – which, like FC Dallas, is bottom ten in the league for xGA away from home – seems a sensible play.
- My third forward spot is to be decided. I’ve currently gone for Kelvin Yeboah, who could profit from Tani Oluwaseyi’s absence against a San Diego team potentially missing several of its starters. However, Hugo Cuypers is also under consideration should he overcome the injury that kept him out of Chicago’s drubbing of DC United.

Notes
- There is a lot about this week I am struggling with, so my final line-up might look nothing like this.
- I don’t love STL’s defensive matchup against LAG, but I really like its timing. That leading into either a Houston double stack or an Austin double stack as my fallback is my current plan.
- I love Portland’s matchup here against San Jose, but I really don’t think it is worth tripling up on their attack. I will probably end up having Santi or Antony on the bench and have someone else fill in that third role when line-ups drop.
- Joveljic, Wagner and Gil all have nice home matchups against teams that can let in goals for fun. Klauss can fit into that category too, but something is giving me bad vibes from that game so he might end up being Surridge.
- Both Ojeda and Mukhtar have great away matchups that I want to make sure I have a piece of.

Notes
- There is a few squads in the Club World Cup and international call-ups still on duty, check those line-ups.
- Houston and Real Salt Lake have good matchups on paper which may not mean much as we saw last week.
- Gil, Evander were first in the team,
- CLT missing Ream, Abada and Agye but I like Zaha and Biel this week.
- I also like the RSL attack but I need to see who is playing there.
- It’s the same with Houston defence who have high Clean Sheet potential.
- Rios, Gozo are options up front for that last forward spot.
