MLS Fantasy 24/25 Round 7 Team Reveals

Notes

  • Columbus have the highest clean sheet odds this week (39%). This sees Patrick Schulte come into my team for the first time this season.
  • Oscar Ustari looks to have recovered from the issue that saw him come off against Philadelphia and will be my fallback ‘keeper once again this week.
  • My defensive picks this week include Jordi Alba, Jon Gallagher and Luca Orellano, all of whom have offensive potential and clean sheet potential. I’ve also paired Schulte with Marcelo Herrera. He offers similar bonus point production to Yevhen Cherberko for nearly $2 million less.
  • There look to be plenty of good midfield picks this week based on matchups. Evander was one of the first names in my team and will likely captain the team over Lionel Messi given Inter Miami’s CCC commitments.
  • Emil Forsberg and Dániel Gazdag also make my team by virtue of their matchups, while Jack McGlynn has already racked up 16 bonus points and two assists on the season.
  • Diego Luna is an early bench punt against a struggling LA Galaxy defence.
  • Upfront, Messi is currently joined by Tai Baribo and Diego Rossi. I’m still not convinced by the Rossi pick: Columbus have arguably the best fixture on paper this week, but their offense hasn’t clicked so far this season without Cucho Hernández, and I may yet switch him out for Emmanuel Latte Lath. Messi will make way for Luis Suárez should he miss out against Toronto – Watch out for potential bad weather and rotation due to CCC this week! The FC Cincinnati and Columbus games are those most likely to be affected by adverse weather at things stand.

Notes

  • I love the two early games for CS punts. Charlotte have been very good at home, and RSL could easily keep out a rotated LAG team at home.
  • Ustari is a great cheap fallback against a pretty poor Toronto team if Kahlina doesn’t hit. If my bench hits, I’ll scrub Svatok, but I do like his matchup against Portland as a fun differential CS chance.
  • I love Philadelphia’s matchup against Orlando. Both Wagner and Gazdag have a high ceiling there and I’m heavily considering Baribo depending on what news we get about Messi.
  • Atlanta also have a great matchup. Latte Lath and Miggy were two of the first names I put in my team this week.
  • DC has similar problems at the back as Dallas, so I have Espinoza and Chicho doubled up as well.
  • To finish up my team, I have Forsberg on the bench, who could easily pop off against Chicago, and Jack McGlynn who will be facing a rotated LAFC at home. He should have a really high floor there.
  • This is all based on the massive storm that is supposed to run through Ohio during the games tomorrow. If things look like they’ll clear up, I’d love to fit Evander and some CLB pieces in my team, but that is all dependent on the weather report Saturday morning.

Notes

  • I’m looking for a big rebound for CLT at home. I want Ream or Malanda so may tinker somewhere else.
  • I will be holding a spot for Leo for Sunday.
  • Captain Evander was in my thoughts here, depending on Messi news. But Evander was not in training Thursday, so may make way.
  • There are lots of options upfront so I may look at more Columbus.
  • Freeman and Orellano will haul any week now right?

MLS Fantasy 24/25 Round 7 Team Reveals

Notes

  • In goal, I’m looking at Rafael Cabral on the front end of my keeperoo this week. RSL faces a LA Galaxy side that is yet to record a win in 2025. My fallback, should Cabral fail to keep a clean sheet, is currently Oscar Ustari as he plays in the final game of the round.
  • In defence, Yevhen Cheberko might be expensive at $9.3m but I think he’s worth that with his passing bonus points potential. I also like Columbus’ chances of keeping a clean sheet against a struggling CF Montreal side.
  • I also like the look of DeAndre Yedlin, Oleksandr Svatok and Sam Junqua this week with solid clean sheet potential.
  • In midfield, Martin Ojeda was an easy inclusion this week, the Argentine has recorded four goals and three assists thus far and he’s proven that he can deliver both home and away.
  • I’m also looking at Anders Dreyer, Sebastian Berhalter and Pep Biel this week with all of them having solid matchups. My last midfielder is currently Evander with three goals in his last two outings, it’s worth to keep an eye on team news as he’s currently ’day to day’.
  • My forward line is currently Emmanuel Latte Lath, Julian Fernandez and Diego Rossi, all of them have solid matchups and I like their chances of getting on the score sheet for their respective teams. I currently have $3m to spare in case we get news that Messi is starting in the final game of the round.
