How to Score Points in Bundesliga Fantasy

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at how to score points in Bundesliga Fantasy. With an array of changes to the scoring system we have had to bring in our expert and regular @FPLGunnersaurus to explain everything you will need to know.

Seasoned Bundesliga managers will need to buckle up and embrace change as Bundesliga Fantasy has delivered its biggest set of changes ahead of the upcoming 2024-2025 season. Most noticeably this comes in the shape of the scoring system, which has received a complete overhaul. Last season managers who scored near or over 200pts in a week knew they would be in the top percentile for matchday rank. By the looks of the new scoring system however managers could be scoring anywhere from 1000pts+ a week! Let’s get into it…

What Has Gone?

As well as adding new ways to score points others have gone. No longer will players score or lose you points for the following:

  • Clean sheets (and with how infrequent they were in this goal glutton of a league they barely made a difference anyway in terms of overall rank).
  • Scoring the winning goal of the match.
  • Being on the winning team.
  • Being on the losing team.

New Ways to Score

The first thing to note with the overhaul is that points will now be awarded on a per action basis. In seasons gone players have had to perform two or three of a certain action (passes to a shot for example) to score points. However, players and managers are now awarded per action. So, in terms of shot assists as they have now been renamed a single shot assist will return that manager some points.

Other new ways to score also ensure players who like to run with the ball at their feet. This goes for players who like to get stuck in when it comes to duels.

Unless stated players now score points for:

  • A successful dribble.
  • Winning a ground duel.
  • Winning an ariel duel.
  • A successful long pass.
  • A successful cross.
  • A successful pass into the front third.
  • A successful pass into the middle third.
  • Intercepting a cross or a corner.
  • Committing a foul. In this case they would lose points for this action.

Overview

As you can see from the below graphic along with the new ways to score points the points a player will return has now drastically increased. As an example, a forward who scores a goal now scores twenty times as many points as they did last season.

Goalkeepers will also now score very different without a chance to earn clean sheet points. This is because they will score 30pts per save. But, they will lose 20pts for every goal conceded (defenders also lose 20pts per goal conceded too).

Check out the points system below:

With all these changes even veterans of the games will need to go back to basics and review the new scoring system looking at players who might score more or less. We may see a significant shake up in those upper ranks where top managers of old trip over and fail to get a grip of all of the new changes implemented this season.
