Arsenal and Manchester City Dumped Out of the Champions League!

How many double Gameweek 27 players is enough?

We answer a question playing on the minds of managers as we approach the new round, how many double Gameweek 27 players is enough? With the help of Fantasy Football Scout and its members area, we try to find a conclusion.

As we draw closer to an important stage of the season in FPL, it is vital to know how to navigate blank and double Gameweeks because these periods can be hugely beneficial for rank and mini-league position. So, how many double Gameweek 27 players is enough?

Fixtures

Below are the fixtures for Gameweek 27 in difficulty order. The teams with the easiest fixtures lay at the top, all the way down to the teams with the toughest fixtures at the bottom.

We can see that Brentford, Brighton, Southampton and Crystal Palace all have double Gameweeks scheduled and sit at the top of the ticker. This increases the appeal of all of their assets. It is also worth noting that both Southampton and Crystal Palace face a tough fixture each within that same period.

Longer term

Looking slightly ahead we can see that of the four teams doubling in Gameweek 27 only two of them (Brentford and Brighton) double again in Gameweek 29. This could suggest that they both become priority ahead of Southampton and Crystal Palace assets.

Single Gameweek fixtures

Staying with the fixture ticker above. Popular teams (in regards to FPL) such as Tottenham, Manchester United, Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester City all have very good games in the round ahead. This means that assets like Manchester City striker Erling Haaland (£12.2m), Tottenham striker Harry Kane (£11.7m), Manchester United midfielder Marcus Rashford (£7.4m), Arsenal midfielders Bukayo Saka (£8.5m), Gabriel Martinelli (£6.5m), Martin Odegaard (£7m) and Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier (£6m) all have the potential to outscore any double Gameweek players.

The double Gameweek teams

  • Brentford have proved to be both defensively and offensively reliable this season. Goalkeeper David Raya (£4.8m) and striker Ivan Toney (£7.8m) have also proven to be consistent assets in FPL. Their five fixtures in the next three Gameweeks suggest they could be a great team to invest in and the difficulty of their fixtures only reinforce that.
  • Brighton may have a blank Gameweek but they still have great fixtures ahead, especially from an offensive point of view. They have been maintaining some of the best offensive and offensive stats in the league over the last six Gameweeks. Their key assets include defender Pervis Estupinan (£4.8m), and midfielders Solly March (£5.1m), Alexis Mac Allister (£5.4m) and Kaoru Mitoma (£5.5m).
  • Southampton have been poor for most of the season. They face a tough double Gameweek and are sustaining poor defensive and offensive stats. With no consistent assets the Saints could be worth avoiding this week.
  • Crystal Palace have shown positive patches during their season so far. However as of late they are putting up some poor defensive and offensive stats. With tough double Gameweek fixtures and no reliable FPL assets, they could also be worth avoiding this week.

How many double Gameweek 27 players is enough?

Taking into account the teams fixtures, underlying stats, key players and single Gameweek players, managers could be confident with five or six double Gameweek players. The inclusion of the key double Gameweek players above will be significant this week so making sure we have them could be vital.
