Golden Glove 2021/22
The Golden Glove is awarded to the goalkeeper who keeps the most clean sheets during a Premier League season. The award this season, much like the Golden Boot, was shared by two Goalkeepers.
This season the Golden Gloves was shared by two players. Liverpool’s Alisson and Man City’s Ederson.
Both goalkeepers kept 20 clean sheets this season, although neither managed a clean sheet on the final day of the season.
Between them Alisson and Ederson have dominated the FPL Golden Glove tables since the 2018/19 season.
Alisson
Alisson failed to keep a clean sheet in the final four matches of the FPL season. However across the rest of the year Alisson kept 20 clean sheets. The Liverpool shot stopper conceded just 24 goals this season. This was two less than the Ederson conceded this season.
Ederson
This is the third successive season Ederson has won the Golden Glove award. Only two other Goalkeepers have achieved this feat, Pepe Reina and Joe Hart.
Ederson’s clean sheets were consistent across the course of the season. Indeed his 20 clean sheets equals his personal record.
The City goalkeeper has kept 91 clean sheets in 182 Premier League appearances. This means he averages a clean sheet every other game.
