The new Fantasy Premier League continues into it’s eighth week so in this article we build the Gameweek 8 best free hit team. We use the fantastic PlanFPL website and its brilliant FPL planner tool to build our Free Hit.

Our Gameweek 8 best Free Hit Team can be extremely useful to FPL managers. The Free Hit is one of several chips provided by the game. It allows managers to change their entire squad for one Gameweek only until our original team returns in the following Gameweek.

Fixtures

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 8. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.

Who has the best fixtures?

Everton, Leicester, Southampton, Ipswich and Tottenham all rank amongst the top five teams with the easiest fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Chelsea, Wolves, Bournemouth, Brighton and West Ham all rank amongst the bottom five teams with the toughest fixtures.

Gameweek 8 Best Free Hit

Using the PLANFPL website and its fantastic tools we present to you the Gameweek 8 best free hit team.

Goalkeepers

Everton sit at the top of the fixture ticker this week as they clash with Ipswich. Recent performances suggest that the Toffees are improving. Jordan Pickford (£4.8m) goes into his next match after banking a huge 15 points in the previous round and he may well continue that form this week.

Backing him up and enabling funds elsewhere is Everton’s Joao Neves Virginia (£4m).

Defenders

One player who could be a shoo-in this week is Gabriel (£6.2m). The Arsenal centre-back sits above every other defender in the league for expected goals this season. The Brazilian also faces a Bournemouth side who have failed to score in three of their last four matches, increasing the clean sheet odds for him.

Manchester City clash with Wolves this week. It has been an awful start for Wolves this season – losing all but one of their matches. With that in mind, his continued starts in the starting XI and fact he spends most of the time in his oppositions final third, Rico Lewis (£4.7m) claims his place.

Completing the back-three is Pedro Porro (£5.5m). Tottenham have a home game next which could help their chances of keeping a clean sheet. If not Porro offers huge attacking threat, as he sits above every other defender in the league for total attempts on goal.

Taking their place on the bench are Ipswich’s Leif Davis (£4.5m) and Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina (£4.5m).

Midfielders

Bryan Mbeumo (£7.5m) may be non-negotiable based on his current form. The Brentford penalty taker has notched up an impressive six goals in his first seven matches. He also faces an inconsistent Manchester United side this week.

Injury is a concern but strong sources suggest that Bukayo Saka (£10.1m) was taken off during an England match due to precaution. Excluding Saka could be hugely risky taking into account he has returned in all of this games bar one this season. If we receive news he won’t start then we could look to teammate Leandro Trossard (£6.9m).

Tottenham rank amongst the top two sides in the league so far for most attacking metrics. So, buying into their frontline could be essential this week. One player we should consider is Brennan Johnson (£6.6m). The Welshman comes into the round having scored a brace for Wales and returning at least once in each of his last three league matches.

Ipswich rank as the worst side in the league for big chance conceded and Everton seem to be on an uphill trajectory in terms of results. Dwight McNeil (£5.7m) is just one asset we could buy to target that defence. McNeil has shown how effective he can be after bagging two double-digit hauls in his last four matches.

Sitting on the bench is the cheap and promising Morgan Rogers (£5.3m). Rogers will only feature if any of our other attackers don’t. Not only has he become a regular starter for Unai Emery but he has also collected 20 points in his last three matches.

Forwards

Defensively Wolves have got a lot of issues. In fact, they have shipped at least two goals in all but one of their matches so far. This is something the leagues highest scorers, Manchester City, can take advantage of. With that in mind, and taking into account his form, Erling Haaland (£15.4m) could be essential this week.

Bournemouth’s failure to secure a single clean sheet this season is a concern. But, it also suggests that doubling up on the Arsenal frontline could be beneficial. To so this we bring in Kai Havertz (£8.3m). The German has scored in his last four consecutive matches, with a good opportunity to make it five this week.

Completing the front three and to target a West Ham side who have been poor this season we could consider Dominic Solanke (£7.6m). Three goals and three assists in his last six matches is evidence that he is gaining momentum in his new side. Spearheading one of the best current statistical attacks in the league is another factor helping him cement his place in the side.
