Gameweek 6 best wildcard

We look at the Gameweek 6 best wildcard team. Using the Fantasy Football Scout season ticker we can see which teams have the best run of fixtures. This can then aid FPL managers in picking out some of the best assets for the run ahead.

The wildcard gives managers the opportunity to change their entire team for any reason. Managers activate their wildcards for several reasons. Whether that be to target fixture swings or just change their team up, the wildcard can be precious to your planning.

Fixture ticker

We can see from the ticker below, the teams at the top have the easiest fixtures, whilst the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures up to Gameweek 11 (a six match period).

Who has the best fixtures?

Firstly Luton and Burnley sit at the top of the fixture ticker – this is mainly due to the fact they have a double Gameweek in Gameweek 7.

Aston Villa, Newcastle and Liverpool make up the remaining three teams amongst the top five teams with the easiest fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, West Ham and Brighton are amongst the bottom five teams with the worst fixtures.

Gameweek 6 best wildcard

Goalkeepers

  • Robert Sanchez (£4.5m) – Chelsea are currently one of only five teams that have managed to keep two clean sheets so far. The Blues also rank the third best team in the league for expected goals conceded (5.31). With that in mind it could be wise to opt for the budget friendly Sanchez.
  • Matt Turner (£4m) – At the time of writing Turner is the only £4m playing goalkeeper in the game. If he doesn’t lose his first team spot he could be a great option from the bench when Sanchez’ fixtures turn sour.

Defenders

  • Manuel Akanji (£5m) – Regardless of fixtures Manchester City will always likely maintain some of the best defensive data in the league. Because of that and the fact that Akanji has started four of his sides first five fixtures he could be a great option.
  • Sven Botman (£4.5m) – The Newcastle fixtures are fantastic moving forward. They also produced some of the best defensive stats in the league last season. The cheapest and most reliable route into the backline is Sven Botman.
  • Kieran Trippier (£6.5m) – Trippier takes his sides set pieces and also managed to sustain some of the best distribution stats in the league last season. Trippier has multiple routes to points moving forward and was also the highest scoring defender in the game last campaign.
  • Matty Cash (£4.7m) – Aston Villa have a great run of fixtures coming up soon. Full-back Cash sits ahead of every other defender in the game for non-penalty expected goal involvement (3.10) as well so could be a great weapon to have in our arsenal moving forward.
  • Amari’i Bell (£4m) – Luton have a double Gameweek coming up and Bell costs just £4m which is one of the cheapest price-tags in the game. He is also a mainstay in the Luton backline.

Midfielders

  • Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) – Liverpool have some great fixtures ahead but they have also been scoring plenty of goals so far this season. Their standout option is the Egyptian who has picked up a return in every single match this campaign.
  • Moussa Diaby (£6.6m) – Aston Villa sit third on the fixture ticker so have a great run of fixtures. In the seven matches Aston Villa have played in all competitions so far they have netted three goals or more a huge five times. One way into the frontline is Diaby who has picked up three returns in his first five games. He also rotates very well with Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford.
  • Bryan Mbeumo (£6.9m) – Brentford face some poor defences in their run ahead and their standout attacker is penalty taker Mbeumo. The winger has bagged three returns in his first five matches including a huge 16-point haul.
  • James Maddison (£7.9m) – Tottenham may face some tough matches in the first two but they also have Luton and Fulham in the fixtures ahead. They have been brilliant so far this season – scoring two or more goals in all five of their matches. James Maddison has been significant for their attack so far. He also sits as the third best attacker in the division for non-penalty expected goal involvement (3.80).
  • Marcus Rashford (£8.9m) – Manchester United come up against Burnley, Sheffield United and Fulham in the run ahead – three of the current worst defences in the league. Along with that, no midfielder in the league has had more shots in the box (18) than Rashford.

Forwards

  • Erling Haaland (£14.1m) – There can be no going without Haaland for the run ahead. The relentless striker and penalty taker has already amassed a huge seven goals and one assist in five matches. He also stands out as the best captaincy option looking ahead.
  • Carlton Morris (£5.5m) – Luton have a great opportunity to get a win this week against Wolves who have been conceding some very poor defensive stats. Morris leads his offensive line, takes penalties and has a double Gameweek in Gameweek 7.
  • Cameron Archer (£4.5m) – Archer comes in at a very good enabling price-tag. He helps to enable the rest of the squad and releases budget elsewhere.
