Gameweek 5 community team reveal

We’re back for a gameweek 5 community team reveal. Every week a member of the FPL community provides us with a team reveal. This time @FPLReaction on Twitter comes in to show the readers his likely team going into gameweek 5. He shares his thoughts on transfers, captaincies and any other decisions he has to make for the gameweek ahead.

Looking at a gameweek 5 community team reveal can be really insightful for other FPL managers for the week ahead. Sometimes we can get so wrapped up into our own way of thinking. Seeing other managers method of thinking from the FPL community can often bring clarity to our own decisions.

Team reveal

Goalkeepers

Sanchez continues his brilliant form with three clean sheets in four matches this season. I was sceptical when choosing Sanchez (£4.6m) as I felt he didn’t reach the potential I thought he could have last season. I’m hoping the returns keep coming in from the Brighton goalkeeper.

Ward (£4m) will probably sit on the bench until I can see enough improvements in the Leicester backline to warrant rotation between him and Sanchez around fixtures.

Defence

Reeece James (£6.1m) carries on his steady influx of points without necessarily needing clean sheets. I feel it’s only a matter of time until Chelsea stop leaking goals at the back. I can see double digit hauls on the horizon for James. Cancelo (£7.1m) stays in my team. The Man City defence feels like a must in terms of investment so he won’t leave my team.

The Liverpool double defence hasn’t been a fantastic decision but I hope that changes. Although Trent (£7.5m) showed many what he is capable of in Gameweek 4 I’m yet to see anything significant from Robertson (£6.9m). Hopefully with Fabinho back in the team we see lots of clean sheets moving forward.

Midfield

Salah (£13m) is very unlikely to leave my team but let me down hugely last week. No returns in a 9-0 victory raised a red flag regarding his form but not enough for me to sell him. Martinelli (£6.4m) has now hit three returns in four so I can excuse the fact he was quiet in that sense in Gameweek 4. His stats still look good and they face an Aston Villa side who look completely out of form defensively.

Groß (£5.8m) was my transfer in in Gameweek 3 and since then has collected 17 points. Not only a successful transfer but the midfielder continues to put up great stats. Rodrigo (£6.5m) was my transfer in ahead of this week passed. I didn’t have high hopes of him returning against Brighton but his impending price rise meant I had to act.

Forwards

There’s no change in confidence with Gabriel Jesus (£8.2m). The forward has both passed my eye test and sustains great underlying offensive stats. Haaland (£11.8m) takes the captaincy this week. The top scorer in the league so far looks lethal and whilst putting up some of the best attacking data so far he also has a great game against Nottingham Forest next.

Transfer plans

I’m almost certain I will be rolling the transfer this week and that’s for two reasons. The first being my team looks very strong going into Gameweek 5. The second being I could need two transfers next week if I feel like swapping Robertson out for Diaz (£8.1m).
