Gameweek 5 Best Free Hit Team

Last modified date

The new Fantasy Premier League continues into it’s fifth week so in this article we build the Gameweek 5 best free hit team. We use the fantastic PlanFPL website and its brilliant FPL planner tool to build our Free Hit.

Our Gameweek 5 best Free Hit Team can be extremely useful to FPL managers. The Free Hit is one of several chips provided by the game. It allows managers to change their entire squad for one Gameweek only until our original team returns in the following Gameweek.

Fixtures

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 5. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.

Who has the best fixtures?

Ipswich, Southampton, Everton, Brighton and Leicester all rank amongst the top five teams with the best fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Arsenal, Bournemouth, Manchester City, Wolves, and Brentford rank amongst the bottom five teams with the worst fixtures.

Goalkeepers

It could be difficult to pick out a convincing goalkeeper this week. We could opt for Chelsea number one Robert Sanchez (£4.5m) who goes into his next match off the back of a huge 15-pointer in his previous game against Bournemouth.

Unlikely to feature and enabling the rest of the squad Lukasz Fabianski (£4m).

Defence

Ranking higher than any other defender in the league so far for total attempts on goal is Pedro Porro (£5.5m). The home match against Brentford could also be a solid opportunity to pick up a clean sheet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7m) leads every other defender in the league for non-penalty expected goal involvement, chances created and big chances created. He faces Bournemouth next up who failed to score in their most recent match.

Completing the backline is Antonee Robinson (£4.7m). Fulham have a tough home match against Newcastle but with back-to-back assists in Gameweek 2 and 3 the American offers multiple routes to points.

Unlikely to feature and enabling the rest of the squad is Ipswich’s Jacob Greaves (£4m) and Leicester’s Wout Faes (£4.1m).

Midfield

No side have conceded more shots on target than Brentford this season. They come up against Spurs who will be keen to bounce back after their recent London Derby loss. Main man and penalty taker Son Heung-Min (£10m) stands out as a player who can take advantage of that.

Conceding the joint most big chances this season so far is Southampton. Ipswich have proven they can be a threat and hold their own in the Premier League unlike their opposition. The Tractor Boys will be more confident going into this game and marksman Sam Szmodics (£6m) has a good opportunity to recapture some of the form that helped him hit a huge 27 goals last season.

Amongst all teams in the league Liverpool rank first for total shots in the box and total big chances. The Reds are another side who will need to bounce back after their recent loss to Nottingham Forest and penalty taker Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) will be keen to lead that charge.

No side have shipped more attempts on goal or more shots in the box than West Ham this season. Because of this and the fact Chelsea sit joint second best for goals scored this season talisman and penalty taker Cole Palmer (£10.6m) could be a fantastic addition.

Harry Winks (£4.5m) enables money elsewhere and won’t feature for us.

Forwards

We could look to a front three this week, starting with Ollie Watkins (£8.9m) who clashes with a poor Wolves backline next up. Watkins goes into the next match after scoring two goals in Gameweek 4.

Another player who goes into their next fixture in top form is Everton penalty taker Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.9m). Everton are yet to win a game but netted twice in their last two matches. Heavily involved was Calvert-Lewin who scored two goals and registered one assist.

Completing the forward line is Dominic Solanke (£7.5m). Solanke will be searching for his first goal of the new campaign after returning from injury. 19 goals made Solanke one of the deadliest strikers in the league last season and Brentford could be the team to allow him to gets back on the scoresheet.
