Safe Spine: Manchester City (vs Burnley)
At this stage of the season, it’s wise to select from Gameweek 36 teams that have something to play for. Manchester City need to keep winning to close out the title. Their opponents Burnley have now secured safety: this fixture ended with a convincing 5-0 city win earlier in the season.
MID: Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva
GKP: Ederson
Sterling is in great form right now, and well in the golden boot race for the end of the season. He recently scored a brace away at Crystal Palace and should be able to breach the Burnley defence. Bernardo Silva could step up in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne, he now has 7 goals and 8 assists for the season.
At the time of writing, Ederson has now contributed 18 clean sheets this season, including 3 in his last 4 games. That’s alongside 1 assist and 55 saves. He will be chasing Alisson for the Golden Glove in the remaining games.
Goals Galore: Leicester vs Arsenal
It’s a fixture that always yields plenty of goals: Arsenal are chasing a top 4 finish and Leicester players are still impressing their new manager, as they chase a potential European place. Aubameyang and Vardy are among the 7 players still contesting the Golden Boot. This match finished 3-1 earlier in the season.
FWD: Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubemayeng, Jamie Vardy
MID: James Maddison, Youri Tielemans
Leicester have scored in 3 of their last 4 games, with Vardy contributing 4 goals and 1 assist in that spell: he’s on penalties too. Maddison and Tielemans have a combined 2 goals and 2 assists from their last 4 starts. Arsenal are struggling defensively, notably conceding 3 goals to Crystal Palace and Wolves in the last week.
Leicester have conceded 4 goals in their last 3 games: strikers Aubemayeng and Lacazette are likely to be involved in any Gunners goals, it’s just two blanks in 9 for this pair, with 8 goals and 5 assists over this spell.
Clean Sheet Stack: Spurs (vs West Ham)
Spurs now have 13 clean sheets this season, including 3 in their last 4 games: they’ve limited opposition to just 1 goal, the current champions Manchester City. West Ham have just 3 goals form their last 4 games, failing to score on 2 of those occasions.
DEF: Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose
The Spurs defensive trio were all on the hunt for attacking returns in recent games: Alderweireld had 3 shots and 2 attempted assists against Brighton. Vertonghen managed 4 shots in the same game, while Rose has 5 attempted assists in his last 4 starts.
