Gameweek 35 best free hit team

With a new Gameweek upon us we take a look at the free hit chip. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can utilise the season ticker and underlying stats to determine the Gameweek 35 best free hit team.

The free hit chip in FPL allows managers, within the same budget and formational limits, to select a team for one particular Gameweek. Managers can attack any given Gameweek with the free hit whether that be to utilise a good set of fixtures, in-form teams or players or a mixture of it all.

Fixtures

Who has the best fixtures?

Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Tottenham and Aston Villa all make up the top five teams with the easiest fixtures according to the fixture ticker.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Leeds, Brentford, Arsenal, Newcastle and Crystal Palace all make up the bottom five teams with the toughest fixtures according to the fixture ticker.

The best free hit team

Using the Live FPL website we can use one of its fantastic tools to plan transfers weeks in advance. Not just this, but we can also create team drafts to plan for using a chip. Take a look at the best free hit team for Gameweek 35:

Goalkeepers

Brighton have been maintaining some of the best defensive stats in the league this season and they face the worst team in the league for goals scored, Everton. Because of this and the fact he has seemingly cemented first team football, the cheap enabling Jason Steele (£3.9m) could be a great option.

Backing Steele up in goal is Leicester’s Daniel Iverson (£3.8m). He also has a great price-tag and fixture. However, he will only feature in the event Steele does not.

Defenders

Tottenham rank towards the top of the fixture ticker this week with a game at home against Crystal Palace. They also play with a back-three which gives wing-back Pedro Porro (£4.8m) the freedom to advance forward. No defender in the last six Gameweeks has had more attempts on goal than him (12).

Wolves rank amongst the worst three teams in the league for goals scored this season (29). Because of this backing an opposing defender could be hugely beneficial. Aston Villa’s Alex Moreno (£4.5m) ranks amongst the best six defenders in the league in the last six for non-penalty expected goal involvement (1.46). He has also managed to return in half of his games within the same period.

Liverpool face Brentford at home this week. No player has created more big chances than Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.6m) in the last six games (six). In the same period the full-back has also banked a whopping six assists.

Manchester City dominate many of the defensive data points this season. This indicates potential for clean sheets. They play a struggling Leeds so investing in someone like John Stones (£5.6m) who not only has clean sheet potential but has significant threat from set pieces could be a great move.

Manchester United have kept more clean sheets than any other side this season (15). Finding a cheap way into their backline could be key and that can be done via full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.3m). He sits on the bench.

Midfielders

Brighton play a match against Everton in Gameweek 35. The Toffees are in torrid form defensively, conceding two or more goals in four of their last six matches. Brighton, however, are in fantastic scoring form, scoring two or more in four of their last six. Because of this and their cheap enabling options, it could be worth investing in Kaoru Mitoma (£5.6m) and Solly March (£5.3m). Both sit as their best attacking options.

Leeds have been really poor defensively. This can be seen in the fact that in the last six Gameweeks no team have conceded more goals (23) and more big chances (23). One way to take advantage of that is Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (£12.2m). Monitoring the Belgian’s knock will be key. He ranks second amongst all players in the league for big chances created in the last six games (six).

Brentford may be strong offensively but when compared to all teams in the last six they rank the worst in the league for shots on target conceded (39). Liverpool are in a great run of scoring form scoring two or more goals in all of their last five matches. Their standout option is Egyptian Mohamed Salah (£13m) who not only picked up a return in four of his last five games but also takes his sides penalties giving him an additional route to points.

Manchester United will be looking to cement a place in the top four so their motivation is rife. They play against West Ham who have shown defensive capitulation when facing efficient attacks recently. The standout attacking option is Marcus Rashford (£7.2m). The winger has collected a return in all four of his last starts including two double-digit hauls.

Forwards

Manchester City dominate the majority of the key attacking data points this season. A large reason for that is Erling Haaland (£12.4m). The Norwegian has bagged an incredible 34 goals and seven assists this season. Not just this but he is also the standout captaincy option. Haaland is the only starting striker in the line-up.

Amongst all players in the last six Gameweeks Bournemouth’s focal point and penalty taker Dominic Solanke (£5.6m) has managed returns in three of his last six games. In the same period amongst all players in the league he also sits second best for attempts on goal (23) and second best for shots in the box (22). Solanke will sit as first sub on the bench. He will feature if any of the starting 11 fail to.

Leeds striker Sam Greenwood (£4m) is only in the team to help enable funds elsewhere.
