Gameweek 30 Best Wildcard Team
Note: This draft is for the majority who do not plan to use the Free Hit in Gameweek 34. This team also gives owners nine Double Gameweek players for Gameweek 34 without transfers.
Goalkeepers
Everton rank as the third best team in the league for clean sheets kept so far this season (nine). Combine that with their Double Gameweek ahead and Jordan Pickford (£4.6m) becomes an excellent option between the sticks. West Ham’ Alphonse Areola (£4.2m) could be a cheap budget enabling backup to Pickford. The Hammers also face Fulham when Pickford faces Chelsea so there is potential to rotate them in Gameweek 33.
Defenders
Chelsea may not Double in Gameweek 34 but they are likely to in Gameweek 35/36 in addition to Gameweek 37. One player who has potential from now until then is Malo Gusto (£4.2m). As well as his fantastic price-tag Gusto also has very good attacking threat – registering two assists in his last four matches.
Another player with an unavoidable price-tag is Liverpool full-back Conor Bradley (£4.1m). Liverpool have a lovely schedule including an enticing Double Gameweek in 34. Bradley has collected an impressive four attacking returns in just six starts this season.
Bournemouth sit right at the top of the fixture ticker for the period ahead. The Cherries also have an appealing Double Gameweek and with the lack of defensive options across the board it could be worth adding Illia Zabarnyi (£4.5m). The Ukrainian picked up two returns in his last three matches, one of them being a goal.
Wolves also have some great fixtures ahead, including their Double Gameweek. One player who has caught the eye recently is Rayan Ait Nouri (£4.5m) who has amassed a massive 22 points in his last three games due to a goal, an assist and a clean sheet.
Arsenal have maintained a better defence than any other side in the league this season which is enough to invest. The standout option is Gabriel (£5.3m) who has scored three times in his last 10 matches in all competitions.
Midfielders
Liverpool continue to sustain better key attacking metrics than any other side in the league. Because of this, the fixtures ahead, the fact he has managed the joint third most attacking returns even though he was absent for a period and his captaincy potential, Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) is an easy inclusion.
Crystal Palace have two great fixtures next and two home matches in their Double Gameweek 34. Their standout attacker is penalty taker, set piece specialist, and most creative player, Eberechi Eze (£6m) who has returned to full fitness after a recent injury.
Cole Palmer (£5.7m) has no reason to leave any teams for the period ahead. The Chelsea talisman and penalty taker has been excellent so far, picking up a huge 11 goals and eight assists already this season. We also have to keep in mind that Palmer has two Double Gameweeks coming up.
Tottenham have a Blank Gameweek in 34 but they are also likely to have a Double Gameweek immediately after that. Because of that it could be worth fitting in at least one of their players early on and penalty taker Son Heung-Min (£10.1m) is the standout option.
Arsenal are scoring more goals than any other team recently, so combining that with their Double Gameweek in 34, makes Bukayo Saka (£9.1m) a good addition. Saka hasn’t just managed three double-digit hauls in his last five matches but he also ranks as the second highest scoring player in the game.
Forwards
Manchester City may rank low on the fixture ticker but going without Erling Haaland (£14.3m) could cause major issues. The Norwegian doesn’t just spearhead the best team in the league but he is also a standout captaincy option for most weeks moving forward.
The Bournemouth fixtures make it close to essential when it comes to owning Dominic Solanke (£7.2m). With 15 goals and three assists this season already, the Bournemouth penalty taker is having his best ever season in the league.
Fulham may be hit and miss in terms of fixtures but they are in fantastic scoring form recently. Combine that with their match against Sheffield United next, his £4.6m and his six goals in the last six matches and Rodrigo Muniz has the potential to be one of the best budged enablers in the game.
