Gameweek 3 Best Free Hit Team

Last modified date

The new Fantasy Premier League continues into it’s third week so in this article we build the Gameweek 3 best free hit team. We use the fantastic PlanFPL website and its brilliant FPL planner tool to build our Free Hit.

Our Gameweek 3 best Free Hit Team can be extremely useful to FPL managers. The Free Hit is one of several chips provided by the game. It allows managers to change their entire squad for one Gameweek only until our original team returns in the following Gameweek.

Fixtures

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 3. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.

Who has the best fixtures?

Brentford, Fulham, Aston Villa, Ipswich, Nottingham Forest and Arsenal all rank amongst the top six teams with the easiest fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Brighton, West Ham, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Liverpool all rank in the bottom six teams with the toughest fixtures.

Goalkeepers

Between the sticks we could opt for Mark Flekken (£4.5m). The Brentford man is yet to keep a clean sheet so far this season but faces a Southampton side who have failed to score a single goal in the new campaign.

In the unlikely event that Flekken does not feature then Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels (£4.5m) will.

Defenders

Fulham sit near the top of the fixture ticker this week as they clash with Ipswich. One player who offers potential at both ends of the pitch is Antonee Robinson (£4.6m) who registered an assist in his latest match.

Arsenal appear to be producing similar defensive form to what they did last season. The London side have managed back-to-back clean sheets in their first two rounds and with a home match next up they could make it three. With that in mind centre-back Gabriel (£6m) could benefit.

Manchester City are another side who have started the season exceptionally. They face West Ham in the round ahead which could mean defensive potential. Josko Gvardiol (£6m) continues to be their standout from an attacking perspective.

On the bench you could back Chelsea’s Levi Colwill (£4.5m) who seems to be one of their safest picks in terms of minutes. Joining him is Ipswich centre-back Jacob Greaves (£4m) who enables money elsewhere, has attacking threat but is unlikely to feature.

Midfielders

The continued absence of striker Ivan Toney makes Bryan Mbeumo (£7m) a great pick from Brentford. Without his teammate present Mbeumo takes both penalties and a talismanic role within the frontline. Southampton lay ahead which could be a great opportunity for Mbeumo to add to the goal he scored in Gameweek 1.

Whilst Mohamed Salah is tempting against his rivals Manchester United it could be wise to use the £5m elsewhere. For that reason Diogo Jota (£7.6m) could be a suitable replacement. Jota continues to lead the Liverpool attack and whilst there has managed a goal contribution in each of his first two matches.

Aston Villa have lovely fixture this week as they meet with newly promoted side Leicester. one player who continues to catch the eye is budget midfielder Morgan Rogers (£5m) who appears nailed in terms of gametime.

With question marks around Christopher Nkunku and his minutes the most logical move would be to bring in main man and penalty taker Cole Palmer (£10.5m). Palmer is the only player in the Chelsea frontline who appears safe for minutes and his three assists and one goal in the previous round is a stark reminder of how effective he can be.

Fulham face an Ipswich side who have capitulated defensively in both of their first two games. One player who has caught the eye in Gameweek 1 and 2 is Emile Smith Rowe (£5.6m). The former Arsenal midfielder banked 10 points in his latest match for his efforts.

Forwards

The lack of standout captaincy options this week makes Erling Haaland (15m) the standout captaincy option. Haaland has started the season in incredible form – racking up four goals in his first two games. The Norwegian has a fairly good fixture against West Ham who are yet to convince defensively.

Aston Villa’s meeting with Leicester makes it very difficult to leave out Ollie Watkins (£9m). Last seasons highest scoring forward will be eager to get on the score sheet after a quiet start to the new campaign.

Wolves shipped six goals to Chelsea in Gameweek 2. Their worrying start to the season makes them a team to target and who better than Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood (£6m) who leads the frontline. Some managers may even decide they want to start him ahead of another player in the starting XI.
