Gameweek 22 Team
Back to back green arrows brings hope for a return back into the Top 10k for the Gameweek 22 team.
Two free transfers give some flexibility, but there are injuries and another captain conundrum to navigate.
Gameweek 22 Squad
Here’s how the Gameweek 22 team shapes up before the deadline on Saturday 12th January, with two free transfers available and some funds in the bank. The team currently lies at 15.6k, with 1,311 points and a team value of 104.0 million. We are generally happy with the overall look of the squad, with the premium players performing well. The defence is a problem area, with an out of form Laporte the top priority for a transfer out. Fraser and Camarasa are injury doubts but both have been valuable and are still the best value options in their respective price brackets. Going without a Manchester City attacker is a worry, particularly with their recent Cup form, but Hazard and Kane seem risky to drop right now. Fabianski and the budget defenders, other than Wan-Bissaka have been underperforming, but the flexibility to roll a transfer over is tempting, particularly with the template shifting constantly. A replacement for Laporte is the move to make, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Lucas Digne and Kieran Trippier high on the agenda.Gameweek 22 Team
The injury news is fairly positive so we aren’t forced into a change in midfield. Considering the replacements for Laporte, a move for an asset from a resolute Liverpool defence was most appealing, with Alexander-Arnold providing a significant saving too. His attacking potential means we expect him to score well ahead of an excellent fixture run. Here’s how the Gameweek 22 team lines up. It was tricky to decide which attacking player to bench out of Fraser, Camarasa and Jimenez. Ultimately the flags and Jimenez’s form against top six sides forced out hand, Manchester City are without a clean sheet in eight games, so Jimenez retains his place. Camarasa is ready if Fraser happens to miss out. The other dilemma was with captaincy, Richarlison has a tempting fixture, but we prefer going with a premium option: Salah, Hazard and Kane were all considered. Kane is the consistent performer, Hazard has the fixture and Salah the form. Hazard was our gut feeling for most of the week, but news of Morata being fit for the weekend put us off, so we are playing safe with Salah as our Gameweek 22 team captain.BEFORE YOU GO….
