Safe Spine: Manchester City (vs Huddersfield)
GKP: Ederson
DEF: Benjamin Mendy
MID: Bernardo Silva
FWD: Sergio Aguero
The Champions have the most favourable fixture of the weekend, as they host a goal-shy Huddersfield side. A clean sheet looks like a formality, with plenty of goals expected too.
Ederson should have a good game between the sticks, he’s not expected to be challenged too much. Ben Mendy has the ability to provide attacking returns down the left-wing.
After that unfortunate injury news for Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva is expected to capitalise in the middle of the park. A start looks secure: he’s in favour under Pep and took an excellent chance last weekend.
Sergio Aguero is expected to lead the line for City’s first home game of the season. He will be the key to unlocking a resolute Huddersfield defence, with goals firmly on the agenda. He’s our top captain candidate.
Goals Galore: West Ham vs Bournemouth
MID: Michael Antonio, Ryan Fraser
FWD: Marko Arnautovic, Josh King
Goals are on the agenda in East London this Saturday, as an attacking West Ham side come up against an equally attacking Bournemouth side. Expect plenty of goals from each.
Antonio looked to be a big attacking threat against Liverpool, with some strong runs into the box and an aerial asset from set pieces.
Arnautovic disappointed on opening weekend, up against a strong Liverpool defence, but he had a fantastic preseason: he will do well against this weaker opposition.
Ryan Fraser finally showed his potential, with a goal and an assist last time out: he’s creating plenty behind the front two and has a fair share of set pieces.
Josh King disappointed compared to his forward counterpart Callum Wilson, but we are still tipping him for a strong performance this weekend. Hopefully, he will be back on penalties.
Clean Sheet Stack: Spurs (vs Fulham)
DEF: Jan Vertonghen, Ben Davies, Davinson Sanchez
A clean sheet looks like a formality for this Spurs side, as they return to Wembley. Three of the Spurs back four managed attacking returns last weekend, which further bolsters their potential.
Fulham created very few big chances, in their 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace last weekend. It’s an even tougher ask in this high-profile fixture.
