Gameweek 19 Best Free Hit
Using the PLANFPL website and its fantastic tools we present to you the Gameweek 19 best free hit team:
Goalkeepers
Crystal Palace come up against a Southampton side who have scored the least amount of goals in the league thus far. Because of this, investing into the Eagles backline could be rewarding. The cheapest route in is man between the sticks Dean Henderson (£4.4m).
Enabling funds elsewhere is Leicester’ Jakub Stolarczyk (£4m).
Defenders
Manchester City have been out of sorts, but an away match against promoted side Leicester could hold potential. The Foxes have produced some of the worst defensive and offensive metrics this season and Rico Lewis (£4.6m) could take advantage of both.
Ranking among the top two sides for total shots in the box and big chances conceded, Arsenal are sustaining fantastic underlying defensive. It could be tough for Gabriel (£6.3m) and co to keep a clean sheet against Brentford, but the Brazilian also has considerable attacking threat from set-plays.
Completing the back-three is Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.1m). No side have kept more clean sheets than Liverpool this season, and this week they face West Ham. Alexander-Arnold heads into the meeting with both clean sheet and attacking potential.
Coming in nice and cheap, and enabling the rest the of the squad is Nottingham Forest’ Nikola Milenković (£4.6m) and Bournemouth’ Dean Huijsen (£4.4m).
Midfielders
Southampton have shipped three or more goals in a huge eight of their matches this season, making them a perfect side to target. One of Crystal Palace’ best performing players recently is Ismaïla Sarr (£5.8m), who has managed three goals and one assist in his last three league games.
Only Liverpool have scored more goals than Tottenham this campaign. They also face a Wolves side who rank joint worst for total goals conceded. One of their most convincing attackers recently has been Dejan Kulusevski (£6.4m). Kulusevski has produced a goal contribution in three of his four-previous games.
In scintillating form this season, Cole Palmer (£11.3m) could be considered an essential at this point. The Chelsea penalty taker clashes with a woeful Ipswich defence up next, which could see him add his 20th attacking return of the season.
Arguably even more essential than Palmer is Liverpool penalty taker Mohamed Salah (£13.5m). The Egyptian has delivered an astonishing 11 double-digit hauls this campaign, making him the most explosive asset in the game.
On the bench, enabling the team and offering himself up as a viable attacking option is Enzo Fernandez (£5.1m). The Argentine has been in top form as of late – returning in six of his last eight matches.
Forwards
Ranking above every other side bar Liverpool for total big chances this season, Chelsea have proven to be one of the most deadliest attacks in the league. Leading that attack is Nicolas Jackson (£8.3m). Jackson plays a poor Ipswich side next, and will hope to return to form after failing to return in his last two games.
One forward you just can’t ignore at the moment is Alexander Isak (£9.1m). Isak has amassed a huge seven goals and two assists in his last five matches. This week he comes up against a poor Manchester United side who have shipped at least two goals in four of their last five games.
The Southampton defence has been one of the worst in the worst in the league. So, targeting their backline could be hugely rewarding. The Eagles main striker and penalty taker is Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.2m), who well could recapture his excellent 2023/24 end-of-season form this week.
