Gameweek 18 Best Free Hit
Using the PLANFPL website and its fantastic tools we present to you the Gameweek 18 best free hit team:
Goalkeepers
Arsenal have a great home fixture against Ipswich this week, who rank amongst the worst teams in the league for several key attacking metrics. Therefore, David Raya (£5.6m) could well keep a clean sheet this week.
In the unlikely event Raya doesn’t feature, West Ham’ Łukasz Fabiański (£4.1m) will come in to replace him.
Defenders
Ranking joint second for clean sheets this season, Arsenal continue to be one of the best defences to invest in. Their standout defensive asset is arguably Gabriel (£6.2m), who as well as creating an assist in his previous match, has also netted five goals in all competitions this season.
No side in the league have kept more clean sheets than Liverpool this campaign. Because of that, his fixture against a poor newly promoted Leicester frontline, and taking into account his excellent distribution data, Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7m) is a shoo-in.
There are plenty of budget picks in defence with clean sheet potential this week, and one of them is former Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.6m). As well as having clean sheet potential against a woeful Southampton, one goal and two assists in his previous six matches suggests he also has attacking threat.
On the bench and facing inconsistent sides, Manchester United’ Lisandro Martinez (£4.4m) and Bournemouth’ Dean Huijsen (£4.3m) also make the cut.
Midfielders
At home and in great form, Liverpool take on promoted side Leicester this week. The Foxes remain a great team to target and who better to take advantage of that than the relentless Mohamed Salah (£13.4m).
Manchester United have a lovely fixture this week from an attacking perspective. Wolves lay ahead, who have shipped more goals than any other teams thus far. A cheap route into the frontline is the in-form Amad Diallo (£5.3m). Diallo is in great form – having managed three returns in his last three matches.
Ipswich go into their next match off the back of conceding a huge four goals to Newcastle in the latest round. This could be a great opportunity for Arsenal to score goals, and with Bukayo Saka’ injury, Gabriel Martinelli (£6.7m) could be an exciting avenue into the attack.
No side have scored more goals than Chelsea this season. The Blues have been excellent, and sit second in the league because of that. This week they play at home to Fulham, which could see talisman and penalty taker Cole Palmer (£11.2m) continue his season form.
As well as losing six of their last seven games, Southampton have also produced some of the worst defensive data in the league. The Saints are a team to target and West Ham talisman Jarrod Bowen (£7.4m) could be their standout option.
Forwards
Taking into account his recent form, it would be unwise to exclude Newcastle striker Alexander Isak (£8.9m). Isak heads into his match against Aston Villa, having managed six goals and two assists in his previous four league matches.
Nottingham Forest sit among the top four in the Premier League, after a fantastic start to the campaign. Spearheading the frontline is Chris Wood (£6.6m). Wood has already netted 10 goals this season, and with Tottenham ahead, he could well add to that.
Another brilliant option, but on the bench, is Joao Pedro (£5.9m). The Brazilian has been short of form recently. However, he faces Brentford next, the side who sit 20th for total shots on target conceded this season so far.
