Gameweek 17 Best Free Hit
Using the PLANFPL website and its fantastic tools we present to you the Gameweek 17 best free hit team:
Goalkeepers
Arsenal have kept three clean sheets in their last five league matches, showing they may be recapturing their elite 2023/24 defensive form. With that in mind, and unpredictability for clean sheets elsewhere, David Raya (£5.6m) could be the best option this week.
Backing David Raya up in the unlikely event he doesn’t feature is West Ham’ Lukasz Fabianski (£4.1m), who helps enable budget elsewhere.
Defenders
Arsenal face one of the worst attacks in the league when based on goals scored. Crystal Palace could be a great opportunity to add another clean sheet to their season tally. As well as defensive potential, Gabriel (£6.1m) has also scored three goals this season.
Fulham have a lovely fixture as they come up against Southampton. The Saints have scored less goals than any other side this season which boosts Antonee Robinson’s (£4.8m) appeal. The full-back has also registered an impressive six assists this campaign.
Newcastle’ fixtures continue to offer potential with Ipswich up next. If the Magpies fail to keep the clean sheet then Lewis Hall (£4.6m) also offers attacking potential – after racking up two assists and a 15-point haul in his most recent match.
On the bench, and very good options overall is Chelsea’ Levi Colwill (£4.6m), who is his sides most reliable defender for gametime, and Brighton’ Pervis Estupinan (£5.1m), who continues to sustain excellent distribution data.
Midfielders
Crystal Palace are improving and have considerably recently. But, the Eagles are still extremely ropey defensively, and that could suggest penalty taker Bukayo Saka (£10.6m) has potential. After blanking in his previous three matches, Saka will be desperate to add to the five goals and 10 assists he has already managed this campaign.
Fulham clash with managerless Southampton up next. The Saints have shipped three or more goals on eight occasions this season which could mean attacking potential for Fulham at home. One of their most in-form attackers currently is Alex Iwobi (£5.7m), who has picked up five returns in his last six outings.
Everton may have sustained better defensive data than most other teams as of late, but they come up against the best current attack in the league based on goals scored. Chelsea have been brilliant offensively, and the biggest contributor to that is penalty taker Cole Palmer (£11.1m).
Displaying some serious fragilities at the back, Tottenham may be an easier match than once thought for the Liverpool frontline. It may be very difficult for them to stop the relentless Mohamed Salah (£13.4m). The Egyptian has not failed to return since Gameweek 7, such is his consistency this season.
On the bench is Manchester United midfielder Amad Diallo (£5.2m). The youngster has been the Reds best player since the departure of the former coach – racking up seven goal contributions in his last six matches. He could be a great option off the bench against Bournemouth.
Forwards
Southampton have shipped the second most goals in the division this season so remains a great team to target. Spearheading the Fulham attack is Raul Jimenez (£5.5m), who will be hoping to add to his form after scoring against Arsenal recently.
No side have conceded more goals than Wolves this season, which makes them an extremely appealing team to invest against this week. Leicester play Wolves at home this week and their main man and penalty taker Jamie Vardy (£5.6m) heads into the clash after producing a goal and three assists in his last four matches.
Newcastle meet with Ipswich this week, which could see plenty of opportunities for the Newcastle attack. The Tractor Boys rank second worst this season for total big chances conceded and penalty taker Alexander Isak (£8.7m) has managed three goals and two assists in his last three games.
