Looking at the Gameweek 16 best wildcard team. Using the Fantasy Football Scout season ticker, we can see which teams have the best run of fixtures. This can then aid FPL managers in picking out some of the best assets for the run ahead.
The wildcard gives managers the opportunity to change their entire team for any reason. FPL have given the community two wildcards to use in each half of the season. In addition, unlike any other season, FPL have also provided managers with unlimited transfers during the World Cup.

Who has the best fixtures?
Crystal Palace, Everton, Bournemouth, Brighton and Liverpool are amongst the top five teams for having the easiest fixtures. This could indicate investing in these teams may be beneficial on the wildcard.
Who has the worst fixtures?
Brentford, Southampton, Leeds, Newcastle and Wolves are amongst the bottom five teams for having the toughest fixtures. This could indicate avoiding those teams on a wildcard could be beneficial.
The best Wildcard team
Goalkeepers
Crystal Palace rank first on the fixture ticker with a match against Nottingham Forest. The newly promoted side have been one of the worst attacks in the league so far this season. In fact, amongst all teams in the league they rank the second worst for goals scored and the second worst for attempts on target. For those reasons, it could be worth investing in goalkeeper Vicente Guaita (£4.5m).
Guita is backed up by Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward (£4.1m). It is very unlikely he will be needed, but sits on the bench ready to come on if Guaita does not feature.
Defenders
Newcastle may rank near the bottom of the fixture ticker but Kieran Trippier’s (£5.9m) ability to pick up points through his excellent distribution skills and set piece ability is second to none. In fact, the defender is the highest scoring player in his position. Wolves have, at times, shown they can struggle to score goals. Because of this, William Saliba (£5.3m) could be a fantastic inclusion.
Man City’s Joao Cancelo (£7.4m) may have picked up a red card in the previous Gameweek but with a cup game before Gameweek 16, that is where his suspension will take place. Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi (£4.4m) and Leicester’s Timothy Castagne (£4.7m) make the bench.
Midfielders
Liverpool face a managerless Southampton side in Gameweek 16. Mohammed Salah’s (£12.7m) recent form in all competitions suggests he could be close to hitting his usual high standard. The Egyptian’s 15 points in Gameweek 15 is a reflection of this. Arsenal have proven to be one of the best attacks in the league this season. Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli (£6.8m) has proven to be one of the best value for money assets in the game, so has to be considered.
Aston Villa have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the league as of late. Because of this it could be worth investing in Brighton man Leandro Trossard (£7.1m). The Belgian has now picked up returns in three of his last three matches, including against both Man City and Chelsea. Crystal Palace face one of the worst defences in the league this season in Nottingham Forest. Wilfried Zaha (£7.5m) could be a wise inclusion. The penalty taker picked up 12 points in Gameweek 15 for his goal, assist and bonus.
Fulham’s Andreas Pereira (£4.6m) makes the bench. It is very unlikely he will be utilised this week.
Forwards
Erling Haaland (£12.1m) plays for one of the best attacking sides in the league whilst also maintaining some of the best offensive stats in the league himself. Not only does he make the team, but he also takes the captaincy armband. Gabriel Jesus (£8m) is 58% owned in the game and plays a fixture against defensively fragile Wolves. Arsenal will be looking to sustain their relentless attacking form and doubling up on the attack could be beneficial to managers.
Everton are amongst the worst teams in the league for shots conceded in the box. Bournemouth frontman Dominic Solanke (£5.7m) also takes the penalties. His recent form and opponents suggest he could be a great option for Gameweek 16.
