Gameweek 14 Best Free Hit Team

With a new Gameweek upon us we take a look at the free hit chip. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can utilise the season ticker and underlying stats to determine the Gameweek 14 best free hit team.

The free hit chip in FPL allows managers, within the same budget and formational limits, to select a team for one particular Gameweek. Managers can attack any given Gameweek with the free hit whether that be to utilise a good set of fixtures, in-form teams or players or a mixture of it all.

Fixtures

Who has the best fixtures?

Burnley, Brentford, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United all rank in the top five teams with the easiest fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Tottenham, Wolves, Fulham, Manchester United and Luton all rank in the bottom five teams with the toughest fixtures.

Gameweek 14 Best Free Hit Team

Using the Live FPL website we can use one of its fantastic tools to plan transfers weeks in advance. Not just this, but we can also create team drafts to plan for using a chip. Take a look at the best free hit team for Gameweek 14:

Goalkeepers

As we can see Brentford sit near the top of the fixture ticker with a match against Luton. This could be a great opportunity for the Bees to keep a third clean sheet in a six-match period. With that in mind Mark Flekken (£4.5m) could have solid potential this week.

Backing Flekken up is West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola (£4.3m). He will only feature in the unlikely event that Flekken does not.

Defenders

Arsenal are leading the way for clean sheets this season with six but they are also maintaining some of the best defensive stats in the league. Because of this, his price and fixture at home, where Arsenal are considerably stronger, centre-back Gabriel (£4.9m) makes the cut.

Another side who are much better at home are Liverpool. They too are sustaining some solid defensive data and a game against Fulham could be a good chance to keep a clean sheet. Kostas Tsimikas (£4.7m) is at a fantastic price which helps to enable funds elsewhere. The Greek international has also showed his attacking potential – picking up two assists in one of this most recent matches.

Completing the starting three at the back is Charlie Taylor (£4m) of Burnley. Taylor has a home game against the worst attack in the league next, Sheffield United. Taylor also managed to score in Gameweek 10 so does have some threat. He also helps to enable an expensive starting 11.

On the substitutes bench and two players unlikely to play are George Baldock (£3.9m) of Sheffield United and Amari’i Bell (£3.9m) of Luton. They also help to fund the other players in the team.

Midfielders

Liverpool rank above every other side in the division for expected goals scored and their standout attacker is Mohamed Salah (£13m). The Egyptian has blanked in just two of his 13 matched this season which reflects how consistent he has been. He could also be a great captaincy option.

Brentford’ match against Luton this week is the perfect opportunity for Bryan Mbeumo (£7m) to bag his third double-digit haul in a six-match period. He also goes into the meeting against the Hatters with the second best non-penalty expected goal involvement in the entire league.

Arsenal play at home to Wolves next who have been conceding some concerning defensive metrics. To target the fixture we look to penalty taker Bukayo Saka (£8.7m). Saka has blanked just twice in his first 12 matches played.

Bournemouth rank in the worst three teams for defensive stats like goals conceded, shots in the box conceded and big chances conceded. Because of that targeting them this week could be massively beneficial. One of the ways to do that is with Moussa Diaby (£6.8m) who has managed eight returns this season already.

Mohammed Kudus (£6.6m) could be a brilliant pick this week. The Hammers have scored at least two goals in each of their last three matches and the Ghanian has been instrumental to that. Kudus has banked three double-digit hauls in his last two matches and comes in cheaper than teammate Jarrod Bowen.

Forwards

Aston Villa continue to impress this season – ranking joint second for goals scored (31). They also come up against a torrid Bournemouth defence. Ollie Watkins (£8.5m) has maintained a fantastic return rate this season – picking up points in 10 of his 13 matches so far.

Completing the front two is Manchester City striker Erling Haaland (£14m). The game against Tottenham may be tough on paper but they have conceded twice in both of their last two matches since losing key defensive players. Haaland is in top recent form – securing at least one return in four of his last five matches.

Burnley come up against the worst defence in the league next up so first on the bench is focal point and penalty taker to the attack James Rodriguez (£5.3m).
