Gameweek 11 Best Free Hit Team
As we approach Gameweek 11 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season, let’s try to build its best Free Hit team. To do this, we’re using the fantastic organisational tool of PlanFPL.
One of several chips provided by the game, the Free Hit is an opportunity to select a squad for one Gameweek only. Afterwards, it’s back to your original, regular team.
For FPL managers, it’s an extremely useful weapon.
Fixtures
Below is Fantasy Football Scout’s ranking of Gameweek 11 fixture difficulty.
Who has the best fixtures?
The bottom two sides Wolves and Southampton meet at Molineux, with Tottenham and Man United at home to the other two promoted teams. Brentford at home to Bournemouth looks tougher after the latter collected seven points from Arsenal, Aston Villa and Man City.
Who has the worst fixtures?
It’s one of those strange weeks where six of the current top eight face each other. Liverpool v Aston Villa, Brighton v Man City and Chelsea v Arsenal.
Best Gameweek 11 Free Hit
Using the PlanFPL website, here is the best Free Hit team for Gameweek 11:
Goalkeepers
He may have recently taken over goalkeeping duties but, after the 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest, it’s hard to say if the cheap Lukasz Fabianski (£4.0m) will stay in net versus Everton. Still, the lack of Erling Haaland (£15.3m), Cole Palmer (£11.0m) and expensive means money isn’t an issue for this squad, allowing Jordan Pickford (£4.9m) to wait in the wings.
Defenders
Here, it’s three attacking full-backs at home to the promoted trio. Pedro Porro (£5.5m) may be without an attacking return since Gameweek 1 – feeling less of a threat this time – but he’s still the number one defender for attempts (19).
Although Rayan Ait-Nouri (£4.7m) is joint-top for goals, netting on three occasions. He ranks high in his position for penalty area shots (10) too.
Man United’s Diogo Dalot (£5.1m) ended last season with two goals and three assists but has only been able to shoot three times in 2024/25. Still, it’s a great fixture for finally joining in.
On the bench, Joachim Andersen (£4.3m) goes against previous club Crystal Palace and Ola Aina (£4.6m) – part of this superb Forest backline – scored on Saturday to reach a 15-point haul.
Midfielders
Elsewhere, FPL’s highest scorer is Mohamed Salah (£12.8m), following 12 returns in just 10 outings. He’s hard to go against, knowing that this Haaland-less squad has plenty of money.
It’s the same reason why Son Heung-min (£9.9m) is preferred to team-mate Brennan Johnson (£6.7m), even if Sunday’s early withdrawal suggests his minutes could be managed. Whether it’s an hour or all 90, the South Korean superstar could cause serious damage to Ipswich.
Heading into the weekend, 28-shot Bruno Fernandes (£8.2m) was the only individual with 16 or more to still be goalless. But it eventually came via a penalty against Chelsea. FPL tradition dictates that the goals will now flow, especially with the bounce of Man United’s managerial change.
Bryan Mbeumo (£7.8m) is particularly irresistible when playing at home and Jarrod Bowen (£7.5m) is another who could be on penalties, despite Lucas Paqueta (£5.9m) being around. West Ham get to host the side that has just gifted Southampton their first victory.
Forwards
Up front, Dominic Solanke (£7.6m) had been disgraceful between Gameweek 7 and 9, accumulating a paltry two shots, none on target and 0.13 expected goals (xG). Yet he exploded with 16 points versus Aston Villa, so that he suddenly has captaincy potential at home to Ipswich.
The Matheus Cunha (£6.6m) assist keeps him ticking along nicely. Haaland is the only forward with more shots than his 29.
It’s a 3-5-2 formation but all this money means an in-form game-breaker like Chris Wood (£6.5m) can sit on the bench. Five goals in four matches, about to face the former club he scored a hat-trick past last season.
