GAFFR top picks for Gameweek 40

Last modified date

We go through the GAFFR top picks for Gameweek 40 using stats, form and fixture ahead. After a turbulent round in Gameweek 39, we look ahead to the new round. Gameweek 40 starts on the 7th of April. This means managers have a short time to get their teams ready.

Going through the GAFFR top picks for Gameweek 40 can be hugely beneficial. As fantasy managers, we are always looking for players who could do really well in the next round. For that reason, picking out some of the best assets for the Gameweek ahead can be crucial when chasing down the competition.

Reda Khadra

Some GAFFR managers may have to double check this when they see a Birmingham player included this week. However Birmingham’s recent results has seen them sit well clear of the relegation battle in 16th. After a tough patch Birmingham have won three of their last four matches in the Championship.

Reading lay ahead of Birmingham in Gameweek 30. In their last 10 matches Reading have won just two, drawn two and lost six. In that same period they also failed to keep a single clean sheet. This indicates that the in-form Birmingham could have good potential for the round ahead.

One player who seems to have Birmingham ticking is Reda Khadra (£6.6m). The midfielder has improved a lot since joining from Sheffield United. Since his move Khadra has managed to net four times with two of his goals coming in the last four matches. Khadra looks instrumental in the Birmingham attack and against a poor Reading side could have plenty of potential in GAFFR.

Tyrese Campbell

Stoke are another team who have turned their fortunes around. After huge inconsistencies for most of the season, they are now unbeaten in their last five league matches. During that same period Stoke also won three of their games whilst netting a huge 12 goals.

With their shooting boots finally on, Stoke face a Bristol City side next up who have won just once in their last five matches. One player who could take advantage of their poor form is Tyrese Campbell (£6.9m). The striker has been detrimental to Stoke’s uptake in form, scoring four goals and creating one assist in his last five games.

Thomas Cannon

Preston sit where many football fans expected them to be this season. Their latest positive string of results has seen them up to 10th in the Championship. To highlight their form, Preston have lost just two of their last 10 matches, winning four and drawing four.

The biggest factor towards their appeal this week is the fact they face QPR. As the worst form team in the division, QPR are a team to target. Losing eight of their last 10 matches and conceding a whopping 23 goals, averaging 2.3 goals conceded per game, the Preston attack looks too god to miss out on this week.

The best way into the Preston attack is in-form Thomas Cannon (£5.6m). The budget striker has started the last four matches for Preston. In that period the Irishman has banked three goals and one assist. With a match against the worst side in the league, Cannon is an easy inclusion into the top picks for Gameweek 40.

Ilman Ndiaye

Sheffield United have had a very strong season. The Blades sit second in the Championship, six points clear of teams closing in on them (Middlesbrough and Luton). After a mini-slump Sheffield United look to be settling again as they won their last three matches in all competitions.

They face a Wigan that sit rock bottom in the league so the potential for a Sheffield United attacker could be huge. Iliman Ndiaye (£8m) is back from injury and is seemingly fully fit. The midfielder sits as the second highest scoring player in his position. Ndiaye has racked up an impressive 11 goals and seven assists this campaign. With multiple routes to points and fully fit, Ndiaye eases his way into the top picks for Gameweek 40.
