Last modified date

We go through the GAFFR top picks for Gameweek 38 using stats, form and fixture ahead. After a midweek round in Gameweek 37, we look ahead to the new round. Gameweek 38 starts on the 18th of March. This means managers have a short time to get their teams ready.

Going through the GAFFR top picks for Gameweek 38 can be hugely beneficial. As fantasy managers, we are always looking for players who could do really well in the next round. For that reason, picking out some of the best assets for the Gameweek ahead can be crucial when chasing down the competition.

Teams not playing in Gameweek 38

Firstly is is vital we are aware that the following teams do not have fixtures this week:

  • Blackburn
  • Burnley
  • Sheffield United
  • West Brom

Viktor Gyökeres

From being rock bottom of the Championship to sitting several points off the play-offs, Coventry have been steadily climbing the standings over the last few months. Not only have Coventry lost just once in their last 10 matches but they have also scored in all of those matches bar two.

One of the biggest contributors to Coventry’s league table progression is Viktor Gyökeres (£8.4m). The Swedish striker has been relentless all season, racking up a massive 18 goals and seven assists. Viktor sits at the top of the pile in GAFFR with 154 points. For those that do not own him, bring him in and for those that do, he will be the standout captaincy choice going into a game against Blackpool.

Alfie Doughty

Luton continue to surprise Championship fans. They currently sit in fourth, well inside the play-off positions. In their last 10 matches Luton have maintained some solid form, winning six, drawing three and losing one whilst also keeping six clean sheets.

Their defensive form suggests investing in their backline could be very beneficial. In addition Luton play with a wing-back system which allows their wing-backs to get into some of the most advanced positions on the pitch. Alfie Doughty (£5m) picked up an assist in his last three games and in his most recent match created a massive seven key passes leading to shots on goal.

Chuba Akpom

Middlesbrough’s fantastic run of form has led to sitting third in the Championship. In their last 10 league matches the promotion chasers have won seven, lost two and drawn one. In that same period they managed to score a huge 23 goals, averaging 2.3 goals per game.

With an inconsistent Preston up next, in-form Chuba Akpom could have huge potential. The striker has hit a whopping 23 goals this season from 30 league games. Akpom has also collected 10 goals in his last 10 league games, reflecting fantastic form. At this point, similar to Viktor, Akpom is a must going into the new round and a fantastic captaincy option.

Tom Bradshaw

Millwall have been better than many fans expected this season. They are sixth in the Championship which is just inside the play-off places. In their last 10 matches they won five, drawn three and lost two whilst also scoring 15 goals, an average of 1.5 per game.

The best way to invest in their attack is Tom Bradshaw (£6.7m). The striker sits amongst the best scoring GAFFR strikers in the game. In his last 10 matches he has picked up a cool seven goals and one assist. With a game against Huddersfield next who have won just one of their last 10 matches whilst also keeping just one clean sheet, Bradshaw has big potential for the round ahead.
