Notes

  • I have had a poor start to the season and a lot of things have gone against me already. So, because of that I have decided to activate the Wildcard.
  • From Quansah and Nkunku, Bruno and Eze to Newcastle’s questionable form, picking the wrong £5.5m striker and Faes potentially leaving Leicester, there are lots of factors that have pushed me into this. All of these issues would have prevented me being able to collect up to five transfers whilst also causing me rank damage and losing team value.
  • I have decided to go with my original plan of rotating Sanchez and Flekken.
  • In defence I have stuck with Trent, brought in Gabriel, Lewis, Robinson and Konsa. I think having those five will give me depth at the back long-term, even if Lewis becomes an issue.
  • Mbeumo is a player I really wanted, along with Smith Rowe, Salah, Rogers and Palmer.
  • Palmer is currently my captain this week. It seems like he is going to be the only reliable Chelsea attacker this season in terms of minutes. He also appears to be in the same form he finished up on last season.
  • I have stuck with Isak, I feel like we are about to see the best of him. He is accompanied by Watkins who completes my Aston Villa triple up due to their good fixtures. Completing the front three is Joao Pedro who looks like he has the potential to be a brilliant asset this season.
  • You’ll notice a big miss, Erling Haaland. Now that Ipswich is out the way I expect the likes of Salah, Haaland and Palmer to hit similar levels in the period ahead. For that reason I’m not sure Haaland is worth £15m. I have a plan in place to bring him back in around Gameweek 8 for captaincy.
  • I also plan on brining in Bukayo Saka for Palmer in Gameweek 6. The Arsenal man faces Southampton so I think he could be a great captaincy option.
  • Anyway, not much will change with this draft now, I’m still partly missing Jota, but eventually his fixtures get grim. His replacement Mbeumo will start this week but then sit on the bench for Manchester City next week. This will allow Joao Pedro to play Ipswich.
  • Good luck guys!
