@FPLReaction’s FPL team reveal for Gameweek 24

Gameweek 23 is now over so we can start looking ahead to the new round. For that reason, we bring in Fantasy Football Scout and Fantasy Football Community contributor @FPLReaction to provide us with a FPL team reveal for Gameweek 24.

As we approach any given deadline, managers will be scrambling for clarity on some of the biggest decisions in the game like transfers and captaincy. Taking a look at @FPLReaction’s FPL team reveal for Gameweek 24 could benefit other managers when making those decisions.

Team reveal

Goalkeepers

Chelsea face a struggling Southampton next so it could be a good chance for Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.7m) to return to form. Leicester’s Danny Ward (£4m) is on standby in the unlikely even Kepa fails to feature.

Defenders

Some feel they should bench Kieran Trippier (£6.1m) in Gameweek 24 but with his elite distribution stats he is a comfortable starter for me this week even against Liverpool. Luke Shaw (£5.4m) also starts. The Manchester United left back has featured in centre back recently as well but that doesn’t put me off starting him. He could be a transfer out ahead of Gameweek 25.

Manchester City have been rotating their defence again and Manuel Akanji (£5m) has fallen victim to that. However I think there could be a good chance he starts this week against lesser opponent’s, especially with a Champions League game coming up. I personally would not be benching him against Nottingham Forest anyway. Although that is the case, his long term minutes are in doubt so could be a transfer out ahead of Gameweek 25.

Wolves’s Hugo Bueno (£3.9m) makes second on the bench just in case Akanji fails to feature. If needed, he has a good chance of a clean sheet against a poor Bournemouth. Everton’s Nathan Patterson (£3.9m) is training but I’m not sure if he will be a starter when he returns. He is another player I worry about moving forward and another player who could make way in the coming weeks.

Midfielders

The Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka (£8.3m) and Martin Ødegaard (£7m) both start. Aston Villa have been conceding a lot of big chances lately and I think their motivation to perform will be high after losing their game to Manchester City in Gameweek 23.

Kevin De Bruyne (£12.4m) was excellent against Arsenal in the previous round and against Nottingham Forest next, could have huge potential. Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford (£7.3m) is in fine form and is a great captaincy option this week but takes the vice captaincy armband for me.

Fulham’s Andreas Pereira (£4.4m) takes his place on the bench. He will come on if any of the attackers fail to feature.

Forwards

There is a lot of talk if Erling Haaland (£12.2m) will start this week but I still think there is a good chance he does, especially when their still chasing the title with Arsenal breathing down their necks. If he does start, he could run riot this week which is why he takes the captaincy armband.

My third Arsenal attacker is Eddie Nketiah (£6.8m) who is putting up some fantastic expected goal involvement data as of late. The fact Aston Villa are conceding a lot of big chances only reinforces the potential he has.

Fulham’s Aleksander Mitrovic (£6.9m) has been labelled a doubt by his manager. However his game in Gameweek 25 and Brighton’s recent lack of clean sheets prevents me from selling him.

Additional notes

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can bounce back offensively, especially as I own three of their attackers. If they fail to perform, one of them could be on the chopping block moving forward. My defence is the biggest concern this week but there isn’t many defenders that look convincing for the Gameweek ahead anyway.

My biggest priority at the moment is planning for the blank and double Gameweeks ahead. This means rolling my transfer this week and monitoring Liverpool assets will be key to how I use them in the future.
