@FPLReaction’ top three picks for Gameweek 3
With the new round edging closer we bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FPLReaction’ (Louis) to reel off his top three picks for Gameweek 3.
The early rounds are good opportunities to get off to a great start. Here I will give you my top three picks for Gameweek 3 to try and help with that. There are some very obvious options with huge potential for the first round and whilst I will list them, I will also provide you with three different picks who I think could also do well.
The obvious options
- Bukayo Saka (£8.6m)
- Gabriel Martinelli (£8m)
- Ollie Watkins (£8m)
- Bryan Mbeumo (£6.7m)
- Kaoru Mitoma (£6.6m)
- Pervis Estupian (£5.2m)
- Ben Chilwell (£5.7m)
- Nicolas Jackson (£7m)
- Erling Halaand (£14m)
- Phil Foden (£7.6m)
- Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m)
- Marcus Rashford (£9m)
Richarlison
Tottenham have had a solid start to the season after their thriller against Brentford and 2-0 win against Manchester United. The fact that Tottenham look a lot more attacking and have already netted twice in each of their first two matches leads me too believe that their frontline could flourish again in Gameweek 3.
The fact they face Bournemouth is even more reason to back a Spurs attacker this week. The Cherries have looked shaky at the back and have already been conceding more shots than most sides in the league. Because of that and the above I do think Richarlison (£7m) could score his first goal of the season which I also think will kick-start the rest of the campaign for him.
Raheem Sterling
Its been a disappointing start for Chelsea but from what I have seen bar the West Ham match I have been impressed overall. In pre-season we saw huge progress by the Blues but key injuries have dampened the early stages of the campaign.
One player who has impressed me is Raheem Sterling. Unlike the Chelsea performances that seem to be going downhill Sterling has been the one player who has shown huge growth and thought he was one of Chelsea’ best players against The Hammers. He was electric, lively and constantly looking to pierce the backline with his darting runs.
Luton were awful in Gameweek 1 and conceded some of the worst defensive data in the league. With this in mind and Sterling’ improving form I think if there is going to be goals, Sterling will be fully involved.
Yoane Wissa
How good have Brentford been so far? Excellent is the answer. Similar to Spurs they too have picked up four points from the first two matches and its the way in which they have done it that has caught the eye. Offensively The Bees have been one of the strongest in the division scoring five goals against Fulham and Tottenham.
Many within the community are looking to penalty taker Bryan Mbeumo and so they should but the focal point to the Brentford attack is still going under the radar. Wissa has been very impressive and although some doubted his ability to finish that opinion has been quickly slid under the carpet. The Brentford man has already bagged 20 points in FPL with his returns consisting of two goals and one assist.
Crystal Palace may be a tough opponent but Brentford deal well with this type of opposition so I am expecting another big performance from the kindly priced forward.
