Gameweek 8 review
- If you are a regular reader of my team reveals you will know that I used my Wildcard last week. You will also know that I Wildcarded without Mohamed Salah in my team.
- In terms of the week I had, I hit 48 points which was just above average. This meant that I had a slight green arrow to around 1 million in rank.
- Wildcarding without Salah never sounded hugely convincing but I feel long-term I can use the funds elsewhere to benefit me. What I didn’t expect was Salah to hit his biggest return of the season.
- I was also massively let down by my captaincy decision with Son. Tottenham should have scored more goals and Son should have returned but we move.
- The extra picks I was able to fit into my team without Salah like Kieran Trippier and Darwin Nunez both returned so that was ok.
- As we can see most of my biggest returns came from defence with the likes of Matt Turner in goal and Pedro Porro.
- I decided to keep Bruno Fernandes on my Wildcard and that also didn’t work out.
Gameweek 9 team reveal
- This is my current set up for Gameweek 9.
- As we can see the first issue I may have is Darwin Nunez. Reports suggest he will not start and may have also picked up some cramp. This isn’t a major problem for me as I’m quite happy to let Dan Burn take his place if we get early news or if Nunez doesn’t feature at all. It isn’t ideal but Burn could still do well in the game.
- I’m looking forward to seeing Bowen and Watkins come head-to-head this week, hopefully both will return as well. Cash is also involved so who knows, he may pick something up too.
- Bruno Fernandes has a great opportunity to reward my faith in him against Sheffield United this week. Whether he does or does not he could go next week for Saka with money in the bank.
- I’m also expecting another good week in terms of clean sheets. My entire backline play at home this week so all have good potential.
- In terms of captaincy I am dead set on Haaland against a very poor Brighton defence.
- I’m also hoping Salah has a very quiet week, because if he does, I should be ok overall.
- Good luck everyone!
