Gameweek 9 review
- So I hit another green arrow in the last week which was great news. I ended the round with a 300k rank rise from one million up to 700k due to 90 points.
- Mohamed Salah is an issue. Since wildcarding he’s managed to net two goals in each of his last two matches. Luckily the players I have been able to afford without him (Fernandes, Porro and Trippier) all performed.
- I’m hoping that Salah can’t sustain the rate he’s returning at and I can continue to use the extra budget to carry on the good team performances.
- Captaincy went well. However both of Son and Salah outperformed the Norwegian which was disheartening, especially as I captained Son last week and it failed.
- I also saw that Nunez wasn’t starting the game so opted for Burn instead so the double Newcastle clean sheet was very beneficial.
- Overall I was fairly happy with my week.
Gameweek 10 team reveal
- So, this is my current set-up without captaincy and transfers taken into account which I’ll dicuss shortly.
- I’m starting Areola ahead of Turner this week due to fixture difficulty. I think Areola has a good chance of a clean sheet.
- Looking at my bench you wouldn’t have thought I’d wildcarded last week with all of the flags. This is something I will look to change moving forward but I think one decent sub is probably enough this week.
- I’m really hoping that Darwin Nunez starts this week but have a feeling he could be used as a super sub consistently which long-term is an issue.
- In terms of transfers I have two free. I’m highly likely to use one to transfer in Bukayo Saka against Sheffield United. I’m also very likely to captain Saka based on the torrid Sheffield United defensive data.
- All in all I just want to continue to thrive or survive without Salah. Hopefully the likes of Trippier, Porro, and Darwin Nunez can help me do that.
- Due to having Salah a lot of managers are having to sell either Maddison or Son to bring in Saka where I can keep both. So for that reason I really need the Tottenham duo to keep up the top form.
- Good luck guys!
