FPL: Top 10 Most Popular Picks for Gameweek 26

The new round is approaching and many within the community have started making early changes to their teams. Because of this we check out the highest owned players in the game and pick out the top 10 most popular picks for Gameweek 26 with the help of the Fantasy Premier League website.

Player ownership has become a massive part of Fantasy Premier League so knowing the top 10 most popular picks for Gameweek 26 can help when it comes to making hard decisions regarding the use of transfers, captaincy and more.

The Top Five

Erling Haaland regains his title as the highest owned player in the game going into the new round (75.2%). The Norwegian has a match against an inconsistent Bournemouth side next so could also become the standout captaincy option.

Sitting as the second most popular player coming into Gameweek 26 is Bukayo Saka with 58.5%. Saka faces a Newcastle side who have been conceding some of the worst defensive stats in the league recently.

Ollie Watkins is the third most popular player for the week ahead with 46.8% ownership. Watkins faces off with an inconsistent Nottingham Forest defence up next. The Aston Villa striker hit a huge 18-point haul in one of his most recent matches which reflects how explosive he can be.

Newcastle have a very difficult game next up against an in-form Arsenal. Kieran Trippier remains the highest owned defender in the game with 41.7% ownership. Trippier has been in brilliant offensive form – banking four attacking returns in his last three games.

Completing the top five most popular players going into Gameweek 26 is William Saliba (36.8%). Saliba has helped Arsenal to sustain one of the best defences in the league this season. He also scored in a recent match so could have two routes to points this week.

The Rest of the Top 10

Another highly owned player going into the new round is Cole Palmer (36%). However, Palmer and Chelsea do not have a fixture this week which could be tough for owners to navigate. Some may choose to sell him and some may choose to keep him on the bench.

Alphonse Areola remains the highest owned goalkeeper in the game (34.9%). Owners will be happy that the Hammers both play this week and that they have a fixtures against Brentford which could hold some potential.

Both Manchester City midfielders Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne come in with around 32% ownership. Both are also in fantastic form so Bournemouth up next could be a great opportunity to extend that form.

Completing the top 10 this week is Pervis Estupinan with 26.1% ownership. Brighton have a great home match against an out of form Everton next so Estupinan could have both defensive and offensive potential.
