FPL: Top 10 Most Popular Picks for Gameweek 24
The new round is approaching and many within the community have started making early changes to their teams. Because of this we check out the highest owned players in the game and pick out the top 10 most popular picks for Gameweek 24 with the help of the Fantasy Premier League website.
Player ownership has become a massive part of Fantasy Premier League so knowing the top 10 most popular picks for Gameweek 24 can help when it comes to making hard decisions regarding the use of transfers, captaincy and more.
The Top Five
- Erling Haaland (60.5%) – The Norwegian sits as the highest owned player in the game. His return from injury has seen the community flock to him as his double Gameweek also approaches. Haaland faces Everton at home this week so he could have huge potential.
- Bukayo Saka (60.3%) – Arsenal will be hoping to get revenge on West Ham after defeat in the last matchup. Many have remained faithful with Saka in their fantasy teams and have been rewarded with 20 points in his last three matches.
- Ollie Watkins (53.5%) – Aston Villa have an interesting tie against Manchester United next, a team who have shown huge defensive inconsistencies this season. Watkins could be a hard sell this week based on his overall season.
- Kieran Trippier (39.1%) – Trippier now sits as the highest owned defender in the game. Newcastle have been producing awful defensive data recently but Trippier has registered eight assists this season so has huge potential going into the game against Nottingham Forest this week.
- Cole Palmer (38.7%) – Crystal Palace look like a team to target lately, especially from a defensive perspective. Completing the top five highest owned players is this man who has been Chelsea’ most influential player and best FPL asset this season.
The Rest of the Top 10
- Alphonse Areola (36.5%) – The only goalkeeper to make it into the top 10 highest owned players is the West Ham man. Many managers will be hoping to avoid having to start Areola this week as he comes up against Arsenal.
- William Saliba (36.5%) – Saliba still edges his teammate Gabriel in terms of ownership despite the latter scoring a brace recently. Most of the FPL community will be reasonably happy to start their Arsenal defenders this week with West Ham in Gameweek 24.
- Pedro Porro (34.6%) – Defensive players seem to be becoming more popular in FPL recently which is interesting. Tottenham may find it challenging to keep a clean sheet against Brighton this week. However, most of Porro’ points have come from attacking returns and bonus points and so still has potential this week.
- Julian Alvarez (33.3%) – We could well see Alvarez rapidly drop in terms of ownership in the next several weeks. This is because main man Erling Haaland has returned which poses a risk to the Argentines minutes.
- Kevin De Bruyne (29.5%) – Whilst his teammate may decrease in ownership De Bruyne’ is likely to increase. The Belgian managed three returns in his first two matches back from injury and takes that form into his match against Everton.
