With significant swings in form and fixtures experienced at this stage of the season, the template looks to be moving. Ted Talks FPL considers the most highly owned players in each position and the potential replacements we ought to be considering in a quest to move up the rankings.
? The #FPL Template is about to change! ?
I run through the highest owned players in each position and have a look at the watchlist to see who is most likely to replace them in the coming weeks…

One hot position for transfers right now is among defenders, with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to miss a significant number of games. Ben Chilwell tops the list of replacements given his recent form in a solid Chelsea defence, and he looks to have regained fitness from his back issue.

Budget forwards are getting plenty of attention right now and there’s no wonder when you consider the output of Watkins and Bamford in recent weeks. There’s not much to split the pair for the FPL GW9 Tips, with another classic consideration of whether you should back form or fixtures.
Bamford 6.0 (left) vs Watkins 6.1 (right)
Goals: 7 vs 6
Assists: 1 vs 1
XGI: 5.73 vs 4.74
Pen Area Touches: 41 vs 44
Goal Attempts: 28 vs 18
Conclusion: Watkins has better fixtures, but Leeds still score goals against stronger opposition. If you own Grealish, consider Bamford pic.twitter.com/kbA8OjlJSk

With eight weeks of data, some patterns and trends are finally emerging for us fantasy football managers, especially when it comes to predicting clean sheets. Four sides have a great run of games in their next three when it comes to clean sheet potential for you to invest in.

Huge gains and falls in overall rank can be had by getting a good blend of differentials and it’s a topic studied by All About FPL in this latest Twitter thread. All of the FPL GW9 Differential Picks have an ownership of under 10%, with plenty having good fixtures on the horizon.

Finally, it’s important for us fantasy managers to look to the long-term when it comes to utilising our fantasy chips and it’s something that guru Ben Crellin constantly monitors. The big hurdle to overcome soon is the Blank GW18 and Double GW19 which could be confirmed soon.
We'll find out which teams will have a Blank in GW18 and a DGW in GW19 when the January TV fixtures are announced.
The Dec & Jan TV fixtures are normally announced together.
The next set of TV fixtures (either Dec & Jan or just Dec) will be announced in the next 10 days.
