Who tops the list?
With Ipswich ahead, it won’t come as a surprise that Cole Palmer (£11.3m) is top. As well ranking among some of the worst sides in the league for key underlying defensive metrics, they have also conceded at least two goals in around half of their matches. The Chelsea man heads into the match, having managed a huge 19 attacking returns already this season.
The Rest of the Top Five
The only other player expected to pick up more than seven points this week is Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian faces West Ham this week, who are among the worst four sides for total big chances conceded thus far.
Hoping to put his recent miserable form behind him is Erling Haaland. Manchester City have won just two of their previous 10 matches. However, a trip away to Leicester, the joint worst defence in the league in terms of goals conceded, could be just what they need to turn their form around.
Another side who have shipped a huge 40 goals this season is Wolves, who face Tottenham this week. Ange Postecoglu’ men go into the meeting having scored more goals than every other side bar one this season. With that in mind, both Son Heung-Min and Dominic Solanke are expected to do well.
Who else features in the top 10?
In sixth originally was Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes (£8.4m). However, his recent red card means he will miss out on Gameweek 19 due to suspension.
Eberechi Eze makes the top 10 this week. He isn’t the only Crystal Palace player to make the list, as Jean-Philippe Mateta also gets an inclusion. Both players have shown little output recently. But, a match against a woeful Southampton next could provide them plenty of potential.
Chelsea rank third best overall for goals scored this season and a match against a poor Ipswich defence could suggest that the Blues may add to that this week. Leading the attack is Nicolas Jackson who blanked in both of his previous two matches.
Two midfielders who could force a win for their sides this week are Manchester City’ Kevin De Bruyne and Arsenal’ Martin Odegaard. Both players have been well below parr this season in terms of output, but injury has played a major part in that. Both playmakers face a poor defence up next, presenting themselves as good opportunities to pick up points.
