Who tops the list?
No player is predicted to pick up more points than Cole Palmer (£11.1m) in Gameweek 17 with 6.49. The Chelsea midfielder sits as the second highest scoring player in FPL thus far, and he has a good opportunity at home to Fulham next to add to that.
The Rest of the Top Five
With quite the gap between first and second place, Mohamed Salah is well short of Palmer this week. This may be because he faces a tough on paper clash with Tottenham. That may be the case but Tottenham have been extremely poor defensively as of late.
Bukayo Saka isn’t far behind the Egyptian. Arsenal will be hoping to bounce back this week after their goalless draw to Everton last week. However, a fixture against Crystal Palace may not be as easy as many think.
Manchester United have a good opening to turn their form around this week. Ruben Amorim and co come up against a ropey Bournemouth defence. One player expected to do well this week is Bruno Fernandes, who banked three returns between Gameweek 13-15.
Completing the top five this week is Erling Haaland. Manchester City’ frontman has scored just one goal in his last four matches. This week the out-of-form Norwegian clashes with Everton at home. Interestingly the Toffees have been sustaining some of the best underlying defensive metrics in the league recently.
Who else features in the top 10?
It’s no surprise to see Alexander Isak amongst the top 10. The Newcastle striker has scored in each of his last three matches. He takes his great form into a match against Ipswich, who rank as one of the worst sides in the league for big chances conceded.
Joining Isak is Fulham’s Raul Jimenez. Jimenez has been short of form recently – returning just once in his previous five matches. However, the Mexican has one of the best fixtures a player can have on paper this week with Southampton.
Bryan Mbeumo also maintains his position in the top 10. Brentford meet with Nottingham Forest this week, a side who have produced some of the best underlying defensive data in the campaign thus far.
Another Arsenal attacker making the top 10 this week is Martin Odegaard. Arsenal have netted just one goal in their last two matches, but a ropey Crystal Palace defence could be a good opening for them to improve on their attacking form.
Son Heung-Min squeezes into the top 10 this week. This could come as a surprise when considering Tottenham come up against Liverpool. The Reds have kept more clean sheets than any other side in the division this season, so the Tottenham attack has their work cut out.
