FPL Player Position Changes for 24/25

We have seen lots of change over the last several days and that continues right here. In this article we take a look at all of the FPL player position changes for 24/25, highlighting their previous campaign form and how their new position could affect them as assets.

Position changes happen every season in FPL and identifying them all could be crucial when it comes to planning. Knowing if a position change will affect a player in a negative or positive way could help decide if a player is worth investing in or avoiding completely.

Kai Havertz – Midfielder to Forward

Kai Havertz (£8m) was one of six players who changed position ahead of the new season. As an in-game midfielder last time out the German managed an impressive 13 goals and seven assists. A change from midfielder to forward is justified considering his position for Arsenal in the majority of their matches and although this slightly dampens his appeal Havertz could still be a fantastic option in the season ahead.

Ian Maatsen – Midfielder to Defender

The former Chelsea man has had quite the year. After moving to Dortmund on loan Ian Maatsen (£5m) helped the German side progress all of the way to the Champions League final. Maatsen signed for Aston Villa ahead of the new season and after a playing left-back for Dortmund his position has been rightly corrected.

Antoine Semenyo – Forward to Midfielder

Bournemouth will be hoping to start their new campaign well. To do that they may call upon former in-game forward Antoine Semenyo (£5.5m). Semenyo was frustratingly categorised last season. However, as a midfielder his appeal will only increase. He also has evident quality – securing eight goals and two assists in 33 league games in 23/24.

Christopher Nkunku – Forward to Midfielder

Christopher Nkunku (£6.5m) seems to have gained some traction as an asset ahead of the new season. Not only has the Frenchman been given a price drop but he is now also a midfielder in the game. The Chelsea star was plagued with injuries last season but featured in both a left-wing and forward position when he was fit.

Richarlison – Midfielder to Forward

One player who could become much less appealing this season is Richarlison (£7m). As an in-game midfielder last campaign the Brazilian hit 11 goals and four assists in just 28 matches. However, with the clean sheet point and extra point for scoring now gone FPL managers may look elsewhere moving forward.

Timo Werner – Forward to Midfielder

Two of the six positional changes this season play for Tottenham. Timo Werner (£6.5m) wasn’t just frustrating because of his in-game forward position but also because of his inconsistent gametime. Now that the German is a midfielder we could see an uptake in his appeal.
