Best players to buy

FPL Planning for Gameweeks 33-35
  • Manchester City – The current Champions may blank in Gameweek 34, but they play twice in the round ahead. This makes them extremely appealing for FPL managers. The cheapest route into defence may be goalkeeper Stefan Ortega (£5.2m) whilst he covers for the injured Ederson. The standout option with considerable attacking threat is Josko Gvardiol (£6.2m). In attack, striker Omar Marmoush (£7.6m) is in great form. Another reliable route into attack for minutes and points could be midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (£9.3m).
  • Nottingham Forest – Although without a double, Nottingham Forest have three great fixtures with a potential double on the horizon. In defence, Neco Williams (£4.5m) is a cheap option, but centre-back Nikola Milenkovic (£5.1m) arguably has the most attacking threat at the back. The pick of the bunch in attack is penalty taker Chris Wood (£6.9m) who recently returned from injury. Of the midfielders, the safest in terms of minutes is Morgan Gibbs-White (£6.5m).
  • Arsenal – Arsenal also play twice this week, then blank the week after. Rotation may be rife in the starting XI, but missing out could be the fear if they don’t. Goalkeeper David Raya (£5.5m) shouldn’t miss any game time. Neither should centre-back William Saliba (£6.5m) or the cheaper Jakub Kiwior (£4.8m). Midfielder and penalty taker Bukayo Saka (£10.4m) may have his minutes managed but it could be damaging to back against him. Midfielders Leandro Trossard (£6.7m) and Gabriel Martinelli (£6.5m) could be good cheaper alternatives.

More great picks

FPL Planning for Gameweeks 33-35
  • Newcastle – The Magpies don’t double, but they have top five to fight for and three fixtures they could easily benefit from. The cheapest and most reliable way into the defence could be centre-back Dan Burn (£4.5m), full-back Tino Livramento (£4.6m) also comes in nice and cheap. Whilst striker Alexander Isak (£9.5m) is the obvious option in attack, a cheap avenue in is midfielder Jacob Murphy (£5.2m). Midfielder Anthony Gordon (£7.4m) could also be an excellent pick when he returns from injury.
  • Brighton – The Seagulls will be clambering for a European spot towards the end of the campaign, so motivation is there. Goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen (£4.6m) is at the lower end in terms of price, but centre-back Lewis Dunk (£4.2m) is even cheaper. In attack, striker and penalty taker Joao Pedro (£5.6m) remains the standout. Midfielders Yankuba Minteh (£5m) has started the previous two matches, so could be a consideration, along with Kaoru Mitoma (£6.4m) when he returns from injury.
  • Chelsea – Chelsea are also pushing for Champions League qualification. The Blues have goalkeeper Robert Sanchez (£4.5m) between the sticks, he may be the safest option at the back. Cole Palmer (£10.7m) is the best of the bunch, but fellow midfielder Noni Madueke (£6m) is coming back into the fold after injury. Striker Nicolas Jackson (£7.7m) is another great pick.

Should we play a chip

This is a perfect time for FPL managers to play chips, so lets take a look at the ones we could play:

  • Wildcard – FPL managers could either use the Wildcard to stock up Double Gameweek 33 players, or to get ready for Blank Gameweek 34 and after.
  • Triple Captain – Managers could take the risk with Arsenal Bukayo Saka for his double in Gameweek 33, or opt for Manchester City’ Omar Marmoush.
  • Bench Boost – Bench boosting in Gameweek 33 may be hugely beneficial for Gameweek 33, beyond that Gameweek 36 may also be favourable.
  • Free Hit – Many within the community will be hoping to activate their Free Hit chip for the Blank in Gameweek 34. Some may even target this week to stock up on players who double.
  • Assistant Manager – If you are yet to use it then now could be the time. There are several managers with doubles and good fixtures after this week.
