Last modified date

The season continues so in this article we take a look at some FPL planning for Gameweeks 27-29. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area we highlight the best teams to invest in, the best players to buy and if we should use a chip.

Our FPL planning for Gameweeks 27-29 can be extremely helpful to fantasy managers. Having a good idea of which teams to invest in and which players to buy could help you claim a successful start season. So, let’s dive in!

Gameweek 27-29 Fixtures

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker in difficulty order. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.

Who has the best fixtures?

Wolves, Everton, West Ham, Fulham and Manchester United rank among the top five teams with the easiest fixtures

Who has the worst fixtures?

Newcastle, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Southampton all rank among the bottom five teams with the toughest fixtures.

Best assets to buy

FPL Planning for Gameweeks 27-29
  • Wolves – Fulham, Everton, Southampton ahead could mean potential for the Wolves assets. Whilst Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa (£4.3m) could be a cheap pick into the backline, Rayan Ait-Nouri (£4.7m) has proven to be the most attacking option. Star striker and penalty taker Matheus Cunha (£6.9m) is the standout attacker, scoring 12 goals and creating four assists already this season.
  • Bournemouth – Ahead lays matches against Brighton, Tottenham and Brentford, and the Cherries go into them in fantastic form. At the back, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizalbalaga (£4.6m) could be a good pick. Full-back Milos Kerkez (£5m) offers attacking threat, in addition to clean sheet potential. Bournemouth penalty taker Justin Kluivert (£6m) is their standout attacking option, but both fellow midfielders Ouattara Dango (£5.2m) and Antoine Semenyo (£5.7m) have been in top form too.
  • Brentford – Everton, Aston Villa and Bournemouth could be good opportunities for Brentford assets. With back-to-back clean sheets in their last two matches, goalkeeper Mark Flekken (£4.4m) could be a great option. Their attackers could be much more appealing though, with midfielder and penalty taker Bryan Mbeumo (£8m) being the best of the bunch. Striker Yoane Wissa (£6.4m) is another great route into the frontline.

Who else should we consider?

  • Fulham – With games against Wolves, Brighton and Tottenham, Fulham also rank high on the ticker. The cheapest and most reliable route into the defence is Timothy Castagne (£4.2m). Fellow full-back Antonee Robinson (£5.1m) may be a little more expensive, but he has managed 10 assists already this season. Forward Raul Jimenez (£5.6m) leads the Fulham frontline, whilst midfielder Emile Smith Rowe (£5.2m) could also be a great option in attack.
  • Chelsea – The Blues may face Arsenal, but the game comes when several other sides blank in Gameweek 29. They also meet with two woeful promoted teams prior to that. Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen (£4.2m) comes in nice and cheap. Left-back Marc Cucurella (£5.1m) is a safer, more attacking option. In attack, midfielder Cole Palmer (£11.1m) is arguably a shoo-in. Fellow midfielder Christopher Nkunku (£5.7m) is another great option.
  • Brighton – Bournemouth, Fulham and Manchester City could see Brighton assets pick up points in the next three games. At the back, goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen (£4.5m) and and centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke (£4.5m) are both solid picks. The Brighton attackers could be more promising, with midfielder Kaoru Mitoma (£6.4m) in fine form. Frontman and striker Danny Welbeck (£5.5m) could also be a nice cheap option.

Should We Use a Chip?

Gameweek 29 could be a great opportunity to use a chip, more specifically the Free Hit. The Free Hit can help managers navigate the round, but also focus in on the players with the best fixtures.

Some may even decide to Wildcard to prepare for Gameweek 29, but that along with the Assistant Manager, Bench Boost, and Triple Captain, could be better saved for the big Double Gameweeks and Blank Gameweeks ahead.
