The season continues so in this article we take a look at some FPL planning for Gameweeks 21-23. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area we highlight the best teams to invest in, the best players to buy and if we should use a chip.

Our FPL planning for Gameweeks 21-23 can be extremely helpful to fantasy managers. Having a good idea of which teams to invest in and which players to buy could help you claim a successful start season. So, let’s dive in!

Gameweek 21-23 Fixtures

Below we can see the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker in difficulty order. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.

FPL Planning for Gameweeks 21-23

Who has the best fixtures?

Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Fulham, Manchester United and Fulham all rank among the top five teams with the easiest fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Wolves, Brentford, Ipswich, Bournemouth and Aston Villa all rank among the bottom five teams with the worst fixtures.

Best Players to Buy

  • Crystal Palace – Fixtures against Leicester, West Ham and Brentford should mean potential for Crystal Palace assets across the board. Goalkeeper Dean Henderson (£4.5m) could be a great pick in between the sticks. However, wing-back Daniel Munoz (£4.7m) has exceptional attacking data recently. Midfielder Ismaila Sarr (£5.9m) could be a cheap route into the attack, but it has become clear recently that Eberechi Eze (£6.6m) is the standout midfielder. Leading the attack and scoring against Chelsea recently, Jean Philippe Mateta (£7.2m) also has potential.
  • Newcastle – The Magpies face Wolves, Bournemouth and Southampton in the next three rounds. The pick of the bunch at the back could well be Lewis Hall (£4.8m), who has returned six times in his previous five matches. A cheap way into the relentless Newcastle attack could be Jacob Murphy (£5.1m) after banking a return in five of his last six games. Costing more is fellow midfielder Anthony Gordon (£7.4m), he has produced at least one return in all of his previous five matches. Penalty taker and forward Alexander Isak (£9.2m), arguably remains an essential on current form.
  • Fulham – With three great matches versus the likes of West Ham, Leicester and Manchester United, Fulham continue to hold appeal. The injury to Kenny Tete presents back-up Timothy Castagne (£4.2m) as a cheaper way into the defence. The best defender pick is still Antonee Robinson (£4.9m), especially when taking into account his seven assists already created this season. Midfielder Alex Iwobi (£5.9m) is one route into the Cottagers frontline. Striker Raul Jimenez (£5.6m) leads the attack but Rodrigo Muniz (£5.5m) could be a threat to his minutes.

Who else should we consider?

FPL Planning for Gameweeks 21-23
  • Joao Pedro (£5.7m) – With returns in his last two matches, the Brazilian appears to have picked up form once more. The Brighton penalty taker meets with Ipswich, Manchester United and Everton next up, which could see his form continue.
  • Gabriel Jesus (£6.9m) – Another Brazilian striker could have huge potential in the next three matches. Gabriel Jesus has now played 90 minutes in each of his two-previous games which suggests he is becoming a regular in the Arsenal frontline.
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.2m) – Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Ipswich could mean potential for the elite Liverpool defence. Their standout pick, bar Mohamed Salah, is this man, who also offers attacking threat.
  • Manchester City – With two back-to-back wins, Manchester City seems to be gathering momentum once more. Rico Lewis (£4.6m) and Josko Gvardiol (£6m) could be great picks in defence. The former is cheaper, but the latter holds more goal threat. Phil Foden (£9.2m) has managed consecutive returns in his last two matches, but so has fellow midfielder Savio (£6.4m), who comes in considerably cheaper. Scoring three goals in his two-previous games, Erling Haaland (£14.8m) is showing glimpses of his previous form.

Should We Use a Chip?

FPL managers have been provided with their second and final wildcard chip of the campaign. Those who want to reshape their squad for the run ahead could well benefit from that.

In regards to the Free Hit, Triple Captain, and Bench Boost, waiting for Blank and Double Gameweeks to arrive could be a wise move. The most experienced FPL managers usually use their chips during those weeks.

The above also goes for the newly introduced assistant manager chip. However, Newcastle’ Eddie Howe could have some appeal.
