FPL Gameweek 12 Review
Gameweek 12 provided a fifth consecutive green arrow albeit a small one, with a reasonable 61 points in a generally low-scoring week. Giving Salah the armband was significant, with most of the points coming from the defence in Sunday’s fixtures. It’s now time to weather the hectic storm with the Best FPL Team GW13.
Patrick Bamford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin chipped in with assists for winning penalties, but the transfer in of Jack Grealish didn’t pay off and he wasn’t on penalties as assumed. A double Southampton clean sheet and an impressive James Justin performance were much needed. The bench delivered points.
Best FPL Team GW13
With one free transfer available, it could be time to consider the weak links in the squad. It’s important during this time to own players who are rarely rotated, play 90 minutes most games and have a strong bench.
Pascal Struijk, the fifth defender, is the clear weak link in the squad and there are funds in the bank to upgrade him. However, the midweek games could throw up a whole host of issues, which means rolling the transfer and having two for Gameweek 14 will be more valuable. There’s only three weeks left until I activate the wildcard.
Captain options in Gameweek 13 FPL land with Bruno Fernandes or Kevin De Bruyne. One has the away form, the other the home form, both have great fixtures and the underlying statistics to boot. Kevin De Bruyne narrowly edges it, but it really was a close call.
At the time of writing, the Gameweek 13 FPL team is ranked at 638,671 with 715 points. All chips are available. Team value lies at £100.8 million, with £1.1 million in the bank.
