FPL Gossip 21st January: Will there be a Double Gameweek 23?

RUMOUR: Double Gameweek 23 to be announced today

With so many postponed matches to be rearranged, FPL managers believe that Gameweek 23 – with a deadline tonight – will see a couple squeezed in on FA Cup weekend.

Burnley, Watford, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Arsenal and Leeds were eliminated in the third round, so it would be efficient to play rearranged Premier League matches simultaneously. On Twitter, gossip suggests that Burnley v Watford and Aston Villa v Leeds are set to create a Double Gameweek 23, with others being pencilled in for upcoming weeks.

If this is announced pre-deadline, expect a late surge in transfers for the likes of Ollie Watkins, Coutinho, Raphinha and Lucas Digne.
