FPL Gameweek 8 Best Differentials

Last modified date

The new round Premier League football is approaching so we take a look at the FPL Gameweek 8 best differentials. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we utilise the fixture ticker and underlying stats to pick out some of the best players with low ownership.

Our FPL Gameweek 8 best differentials could give you a much needed boost to start the new season. Differentials are players who have low ownership. If those players are successful then it could both rank and mini-league position.

Facundo Buonanotte – 0.6% Ownership

Leicester may have just won one of their seven matches this season, but they have also scored in every single one of them. This shows that they have attacking potential going into any given game.

The Foxes come up against newly promoted Southampton up next. As well as losing all but one of their matches this campaign the Saints also rank amongst the worst four teams in the league for several defensive statistics.

Facundo Buonanotte (£5m) appears to have made a very positive impact since joining and starting for Leicester. Picking up an assist against Arsenal in Gameweek 6 he then went onto secure a huge 11 points for his goal against Bournemouth.

Liam Delap – 4.9% Ownership

Another newly promoted side who have shown some glimpses of attacking potential is Ipswich. Although not as consistent as Leicester in terms of goals scored the Tractor Boys have netted in all but two of their games. They come up against an inconsistent Everton at home next.

Leading the Ipswich frontline is Liam Delap (£5.6m). Delap and his side have had some tough early fixtures to navigate, but even with that the youngster has still managed to impress – scoring against Fulham in Gameweek 3, bagging a brace against Aston Villa in Gameweek 6 and continuing that form by scoring against West Ham in the previous round.

James Maddison – 5.3% Ownership

Ranking second best for total attempts on goal, first for total shots in the box, joint second best for big chances total and second best for total shots on target makes Tottenham one of the most attacking sides in the league currently.

Because of that and the fact they face an inconsistent West Ham next, investing in their attack could be beneficial. Whilst many opt for Brennan Johnson and Dominic Solanke, others should consider James Maddison (£7.5m). As well as sitting third best for non-penalty expected goal involvement amongst midfielders Maddison has also produced two double-digit hauls in his last two matches.

Phil Foden – 5.6% Ownership

Manchester City are coming into a lovely run of fixtures. The Champions continue to produce top form and sit second in the league because of it. They go into their next match ranking first for goals scored, so doubling up, with Erling Haaland, on the Manchester City attack could be hugely rewarding.

Wolves lay ahead next, the side who have conceded more goals than any other in the league so far. This could be a good opportunity for Phil Foden (£9.2m) to maintain his momentum. Foden failed to play any more than 30 minutes in his sides first seven matches. But, after starting and scoring in the Champions League and starting in Gameweek 7, Foden seems to be cementing his place in the starting XI again.

Harvey Barnes – 4.3% Ownership

Playing at home seems to be a massive advantage for Newcastle. In, fact as well as holding Manchester City to a draw there they also managed two wins out of two. This is similar to the type of home form they were sustaining last season.

The above makes Harvey Barnes (£6.5m) an interesting addition amongst the FPL Gameweek 8 best differentials. Three goals and one assist already this season suggests Barnes is finally settling in amongst the Magpies. A meeting with a Brighton side who have have shipped at least two goals in their last three matches should be a good chance to continue his new found form.
