FPL Gameweek 8 Best Budget Gems

Last modified date

Here we take a look at the FPL Gameweek 8 best budget gems. Using the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area and its fantastic tools we can compare the cheaper assets and pick the best of them for the new round.

The following FPL Gameweek 8 best budget gems can be extremely helpful for managers. Cheap players are vital towards fitting in the more expensive players, those expensive players tend to be the most reliable and consistent.

Ipswich

Ipswich have a great set of fixtures ahead and that begins with a clash against Everton at home. Playing at home could be a significant advantage for the newly promoted side, especially when coming up against a side who have lost four of their five matches.

A clean sheet against Brighton recently shows they have defensive capabilities. Everton’s failure to score in just less than half of their matches so far could also suggest clean sheet potential for Ipswich. A cheap enabler like centre-back Jacob Greaves (£4.1m) could be a great option. But, its full-back Leif Davis (£4.5m) who stands out as he ranks the best amongst all defenders for total crosses and chances created.

The Tractor Boys aren’t exactly short of goals either. In fact, their recent 2-2 draw two Aston Villa is a good example of that. During that same win Liam Delap (£5.6m) scored a brace. He also netted in games against West Ham and Fulham this season.

Leicester

Leicester are another side who are heading into a good section of their schedule. Since returning to the Premier League the Foxes have won just one of their games whilst also keeping just one clean sheet. But, they have also scored in all of their matches so far which shows they have plenty of attacking threat.

Most of the Leicester appeal comes from their upcoming opposition Southampton. They too have struggled since returning to the top tier, even more so. In fact, not only have the Saints lost all but one of their matches this season but they are yet to keep a single clean sheet.

At the back the best Leicester option could well be full-back James Justin (£4.6m). As well as clean sheet potential Justin claimed back-to-back double-digit hauls in his last two matches. There he picked up a assist, a clean sheet and two goals. Out of form striker Jamie Vardy (£5.7m) could be a good option with penalty duty, but midfielder Facundo Buonanotte (£5m) is cheaper and picked up a return in each of his last two matches.

More Great Budget Gems

There are lots of great budget picks to choose from this week. Whist the already mentioned Ipswich could have potential so could Everton assets who play in the same fixture. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (£4.8m) and James Tarkowski (£4.8m) come in nice and cheap in defence whilst penalty taker and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£6m) leads the frontline but teammate and midfielder Dwight McNeil (£5.7m) managed a 15-point return in Gameweek 6.

Defenders like Manchester City’s Rico Lewis (£4.7m) and Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina (£4.5m) continue to drive up demand. The former faces a Wolves side who have lost all but one of their matches whilst the latter clashed with an out of sorts Nottingham Forest.

Midfielders Emile Smith-Rowe (£5.7m) and Morgan Rogers (£5.3m) continue to impress. Interestingly they both face-off as respective sides Fulham and Aston Villa meet for their game this week.
