FPL Gameweek 4 Best Budget Gems
Here we take a look at the FPL Gameweek 4 best budget gems. Using the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area and its fantastic tools we can compare the cheaper assets and pick the best of them for the fourth round.
The following FPL Gameweek 4 best budget gems can be extremely helpful for managers. Cheap players are vital towards fitting in the more expensive players, those expensive players tend to be the most reliable and consistent.
Aston Villa
They may have lost against Arsenal in Gameweek 2 but Aston Villa also beat both Leicester and West Ham 2-1 away from home. This week they have the opportunity to bag another three points but this time at home.
Everton lay ahead for Unai Emery’s men and after a shocking start to the season – losing all three matches, scoring just two goals and shipping a whopping 19 goals, they appear to be a team to target for FPL managers.
With the above in mind we could see both defensive and offensive potential for Aston Villa assets. Starting the previous match due to Matty Cash’s injury is Lamare Bogare (£4m) who could be the cheapest route into the defence. A more attacking option could be fellow full-back Lucas Digne (£4.5m), he registered an assist in his last match.
In attack the cheapest and most popular pick is Morgan Rogers (£5.1m). Since scoring in pre-season Rogers has failed to add to his total but his overall performances suggest it may just be a matter of time.
Brighton
Brighton have made a strong start to the new season – beating both Everton and Manchester United and holding Arsenal to a draw whilst also keeping a clean sheet and notching up an impressive six goals scored.
Newly promoted Ipswich lay ahead next for the Seagulls. As well ranking joint worst for big chances conceded so far Ipswich have also produced the least big chances. This could mean both clean sheet and attacking potential for Brighton.
At the back avoiding rotation between goalkeepers Jason Steele (£4.5m) and Bart Verbruggen (£4.5m) could be wise. One player who shouldn’t fall victim to rotation is centre-back Lewis Dunk (£4.5m) who can have offensive threat from set-plays.
The Brighton frontline is filled with exciting options including midfielder Yankuba Minteh (£5.5m) who managed an assist in two of his first three games. Budget strikers Joao Pedro (£5.7m) and Danny Welbeck (£5.7m) should be a serious consideration. The former takes his sides penalties but has also managed two goals from open play already this season whilst the latter has accumulated two goals and an assist so far.
More great budget gems
There are lots of great budget picks this week and Fulham are another team offering exactly that. Full-back Antonee Robinson (£4.6m) is becoming increasingly popular after creating two assists in his first three games. The home match against West Ham could also mean attacking potential. As well as Emile Smith Rowe (£5.6m) fellow midfielder Adama Traore (£5m) could be another great pick. Traore has mustered up a return in each of his last two games.
Manchester City have a lovely home fixture against Brentford this week. Whilst most of their options are relatively pricey Rico Lewis (£4.7m) could offer himself up as a cheap route into the defence. Lewis came close to scoring in Gameweek 2 and produced an assist in his most recent outing.
Some could even decide to back the Chelsea defence. Although less than convincing early on the Blues were amongst the top six sides in the league for several underlying defensive metrics last season. Taking that into account goalkeeper Robert Sanchez (£4.5m) and defender Levi Colwill (£4.5m) may have potential against Bournemouth this week.
