FPL Gameweek 37 Team
A transfer might need to be made in defence, as injury hits the FPL Gameweek 37 Team.
Funds allow practically anyone to come in for Charlie Taylor, but there’s a desire to stick with the Burnley defence.

The midweek round of games wasn’t the best, but I’ve seen others with much worse scores so I can’t complain. At least the rotated Kevin de Bruyne didn’t come on for a 1 point cameo, with Bruno Fernandes the vice delivering. The transfer in of Gabriel Jesus was rewarded, and Matt Doherty picked up an assist as a substitute. Nick Pope continued to collect the save points, despite a clean sheet lost to a very good Raul Jimenez goal. This week, there’s just one free transfer to work with. Phil Foden is frustrating in the middle of the park, but can’t easily be upgraded to another Manchester City asset beyond David Silva. Mason Greenwood also carries a few question marks here, with the budget stretching just far enough to Danny Ings if desired. However, with Charlie Taylor looking out for the last two, it’s a new defender top of the shopping list. With funds in the back, I can afford pretty much anyone, although the Manchester United and City defence are off limits with three of their assets already. I’m most intrigued by sticking with the Burnley double, especially given their kind fixture this week against Norwich. James Tarkowski could dominate set pieces in that game, with Erik Pieters also a consideration as a potential out of position prospect. In the end though, with so many unknowns given the truncated gameweek and FA Cup involvement, I’ve decided to save the free transfer. It’s another close call between Kevin De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes for the armband. Right now it’s with De Bruyne again, given his rest midweek and a slightly more favourable fixture. At the time of writing, the team is ranked at 93,339 with 2,131 points. All chips have now been used. Squad value lies at £103.0 million, with £2.8 million in the bank.Get even more Fantasy Premier League Tips by visiting the Fantasy Football Community Homepage.
