FPL Gameweek 30 Top 5 Players to Buy on Deadline Day

It’s the Gameweek 30 deadline day and many FPL managers are unsure on which players to buy, so let’s pick out the top 5 names, based on form, fixtures and statistics.
We’ll avoid some of the more obvious names, such as highly-owned Mohamed Salah, Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak.
1. Jean-Philippe Mateta

Back in action after a nasty collision, the Crystal Palace forward is wearing a protective helmet. He has eight goals from eight league matches and, soon after the trip to Southampton, Mateta has consecutive Double Gameweeks 32 and 33.
It’s a reminder of how the Frenchman ended last season, where nine goals in six helped him be FPL’s second-highest points scorer between Gameweeks 28 and 38.
It could be deja vu, as Palace are in brilliant form. In all competitions, Oliver Glasner’s side has won 10 from 12.
2. Daniel Munoz

It’s a period of eight clean sheets for the Eagles, where wing-back Munoz has bagged three goals and three assists during league and cup games.
As a result, his ownership has escalated to the point where he feels fairly essential right now. The Colombian has shot up to become FPL’s highest-scoring defender from sides outside of the top three.
Of all players within this position, he has the most overall shots on target (11) and sits behind only Josko Gvardiol for big chances (nine) and penalty area touches (81).
3. Omar Marmoush

Elsewhere, the appeal of Marmoush has exploded after Erling Haaland got hurt on Sunday. Managers will hope to hear a conclusive update from Pep Guardiola before the deadline but, as of now, he is Gameweek 30’s most-bought individual. This home fixture against Leicester feels too good to ignore.
The 26-year-old scored in Man City’s FA Cup win over Bournemouth, shortly after his 12 points of Gameweek 29. Additionally, his Gameweek 25 hat-trick is still fresh in the memory.
A big late decision will be whether to buy either Marmoush or Mateta.
4. Justin Kluivert

Speaking of Bournemouth, they’re also about to host a side from the relegation zone: Ipswich.
Already in approximately four million squads, Kluivert set up Evanilson in Sunday’s cup defeat – a combination that scored in Gameweek 28, too.
Before blanking in Gameweek 29, this penalty taker had accumulated six goals and four assists in his previous eight outings.
Only Liverpool have more 2024/25 shots on target than the Cherries (166), so managers will be pleased to see they’re taking part in Blank Gameweek 34, at home to Man United.
5. Jacob Murphy

Fresh from gloriously ending football’s most famous remaining trophy drought last Sunday, Newcastle United will try to build momentum and secure a Champions League spot. Brentford are up first, then 19th-placed Leicester, then Double Gameweek 32.
Winger Murphy has started 15 successive league games for the Magpies, as Miguel Almiron wasn’t replaced. He’s delivered an impressive five goals and six assists in this period.
Not only is he considerably cheaper than team-mate Anthony Gordon – suspended and with a slight knock – Murphy beats him for big chances created (10 v 6) and minutes-per-goal rate (337.6 v 350.3). Therefore, he could be great as a fifth midfielder during this Bench Boost season.
