FPL Gameweek 30 Best Wildcard Team

If injuries, suspensions and poor fixtures ravage your team, it might need converting to the best Wildcard team for FPL Gameweek 30.

To do this, we use Fantasy Football Scout’s Members Area and the fantastic Plan FPL tool.

One of several chips provided by the game, the Wildcard allows managers to make an unlimited number of free transfers to their squad. The moves made in this one Gameweek can both fix problems and plan for the future. It’s an extremely useful weapon.

Fixtures

Below is Fantasy Football Scout’s ranking of fixture difficulty over the next six Gameweeks. Teams at the top have the easiest set, while teams at the bottom have the toughest ones.

Who has the best fixtures?

The only side here with seven encounters, Newcastle sit top because three of their next four are at home with the other away to struggling Leicester. Crystal Palace are the other team with Double Gameweek 32 but it’s a tricky-looking pair. They get to visit Southampton first, though.

Wolves will hope this run can wrap up survival, while Liverpool want to secure the Premier League title as fast as possible. They’ve only had one league match in five weeks.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Brentford pair Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa both have at least 13 goals, but there’s a nasty run that currently includes Blank Gameweek 34, awaiting rearrangement for their clash with Nottingham Forest.

Fulham are playing then, but it’s their only nice-looking opponent for a while. It’s wise to stay away from Everton assets, too.

Best Gameweek 30 Wildcard

Using the PlanFPL website, here is the best Wildcard team for Gameweek 30 and beyond:

Goalkeepers

This squad hugely depends on what other chips a manager has remaining and the times they’ll be activated. For example, it influences which goalkeeper rotation is best between Bart Verbruggen, Alphonse Areola, Robert Sanchez and Jose Sa. This particular combination likes a Gameweek 33 Bench Boost for Areola versus Southampton.

Defenders

Arsenal’s Gabriel is always here and likely has a Double Gameweek 33, thanks to Palace’s semi-final. Meanwhile, Liverpool will be determined to bounce back from Champions League and Carabao Cup setbacks Virgil van Dijk is like their most nailed defender, though he could instead be Man City’s Josko Gvardiol. It’s just that the champions’ backline doesn’t inspire confidence.

Whereas Daniel Munoz is bringing in superb returns. One goal, three assists and five clean sheets in eight league matches, with some cup goals and shut-outs sprinkled in between. He has Southampton first, with an imminent Double-Double.

Neco Williams is unlucky to miss out here, instead there is Dan Burn‘s fixtures and the cheap Emmanuel Agbadou because Wolves soon face Ipswich and Leicester.

Midfielders

Moving into attack, Mohamed Salah is a strong captaincy choice. He’s already broken the all-time FPL points record and there are still nine matches left to play. 17 double-digit hauls from 29 is absolutely ludicrous.

Persisting with off-form Cole Palmer feels controversial but Erling Haaland’s injury releases money and this squad still has around £3.0m in the bank. The Chelsea star should now have a fully fit Nicolas Jackson nearby to bring out his best.

A top-heavy midfield could possibly include Bukayo Saka too, if extra money gets raised from van Dijk or forwards. Let’s wait until he actually plays, though.

With Bryan Mbeumo’s tricky fixtures and Jarrod Bowen just missing out, there are three cheap midfielders. Penalty-taking Justin Kluivert covers Bournemouth, Ismaila Sarr has scored three goals in two outings plus a weekend FA Cup strike, and Jacob Murphy has started 15 league games in a row for Newcastle. He has favourable stats to team-mate Anthony Gordon, who is suspended anyway.

Forwards

Big injury updates are needed on Haaland and Chris Wood. If both are ruled out for at least one match, this front three almost picks itself.

The phenomenal Alexander Isak boasts 18 goals in 19 and has great fixtures. Omar Marmoush could claim Haaland’s centre-forward spot when Leicester come to town, as Man City look to rescue their season with Champions League qualification.

Finally, Jean-Philippe Mateta. Wearing a protective helmet, he is back playing for Palace, hoping to continue his great form during this attractive schedule.
