FPL Gameweek 30 24/25: Best Players to Buy and Must-Have Picks for Big Returns

Are you considering who to bring in this week? Millions of managers panic buy which can lead to disappointment. But, here we filter out all of the fluff, and show you the FPL Gameweek 30 24/25 best players in each position.

Goalkeepers

Whether you are looking longer-term or at the fixture ahead, Crystal Palace could be a great team to invest in. The Eagles have a great schedule, and face-off with rock bottom of the league Southampton next. This could be a good opportunity for Dean Henderson (£4.6m) to pick up his third return during a four-match period.

Manchester City are another team many FPL managers will be interested in. Recent clean sheets against Tottenham and Cup winners Newcastle is promising. With Leicester ahead, it’s hard to look past Ederson (£5.3m).

Another goalkeeper who could have clean sheet potential is Alisson Becker (£5.6m). No other side have kept more clean sheets than Liverpool this season, and with two clean sheets in their previous three outings, they go into their clash with Everton in good defensive form.

Defenders

It may come as no surprise to see another Crystal Palace name among our top defensive picks. No side have produced more goals and big chances than Southampton this season, so we should see potential for Daniel Munoz (£5.1m). Munoz also offers attacking threat – ranking second best for expected goals and bagging eight goal contributions already this campaign.

A home match against another poor attacking side could see returns elsewhere. Bournemouth clash with promoted side Ipswich next, and their attacking full-back Milos Kerkez (£5.2m) heads into the match after hitting back-to-back assists in his previous three games.

Leicester rank among the bottom two teams for most underlying attacking metrics, so we could see plenty of defensive returns for Manchester City assets. Of their backline Croatian Josko Gvardiol (£6m) stands out – as he edges every other in his position for expected goals.

Three clean sheets in their last five outings makes the Arsenal backline a great place to go to invest. Of their options Gabriel (£6.4m) stands out. The Brazilian centre-back has proven deadly from set-plays, something we could well see return against Fulham this week.

Midfielders

It could be difficult to look past owning a Crystal Palace attacker this week. Southampton aren’t just poor offensively, but they have shipped more goals than any other side too. In-form and bagging back-to-back double-digit hauls in his previous two matches is Ismaila Sarr (£5.6m), who could be a great pick.

Taking into account the fact Ipswich rank second worst in the league for big chances conceded, makes Justin Kluivert (£6.2m) a great selection. Bournemouth’s Dutchman returned in three of his previous five games, and takes penalties.

Everton may have improved under David Moyes, but they have still conceded at least once in their last six games. Because of this and his explosive output this season, and as of late, Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) makes yet another appearance among the most promising options.

There are plenty of great midfield options to choose from this week. Among them are the likes of Chelsea’s Cole Palmer (£10.8m) v Tottenham, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo (£8.1m) v Newcastle, and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo (£5.7m) against Ipswich.

Forwards

After recovering from a recent head injury, Jean Philippe Mateta (£7.5m) should be raring to go. Not only does the Frenchman have a plum fixture against a torrid defence, he also bagged at least one return in seven of his eight matches prior to injury.

Another player who could be tough to look past this week is Manchester City striker and penalty taker Erling Haaland (£14.8m). The Norwegian seems to be picking up momentum again – returning in all but one of his last six outings. Leicester next up, could easily see him extend his good run.

Only Southampton have conceded more shots on target than Brentford this campaign. Newcastle may take advantage of this via star man and penalty taker Alexander Isak (£9.3m). Isak has amassed seven double-digit hauls this season, proving himself as one of the best forward picks in the game overall.
