FPL Gameweek 3 Best Differentials
The Premier League is approaching so we take a look at the FPL Gameweek 3 best differentials. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we utilise the fixture ticker and underlying stats to pick out some of the best players with low ownership.
Our FPL Gameweek 3 best differentials could give you a much needed boost to start the new season. Differentials are players who have low ownership. If those players are successful then it could both rank and mini-league position.
Bryan Mbeumo – 5.1% Ownership
It has been a mixed start to the new season for the Bees. Brentford lost their most recent match against Liverpool but impressed in their opener against Crystal Palace. They face newly promoted side Southampton next up which could be a good opportunity for them to bounce back.
The Saints have failed to convince defensively which makes them a team to target. One of the ways we can do this is by bringing in Bryan Mbeumo (£7m). The midfielder takes over penalty duty with the continued absence of Ivan Toney which has huge appeal on its own. But, his impressive form last season without Toney present and his goal in the first round also makes him a very good proposition this week.
Yoane Wissa – 5.7% Ownership
The Brentford frontline has lots of appeal this week. Facing newly promoted Southampton is a huge factor but they also play the fixture at home and as we know playing at home can enhance most teams performances.
For those looking for a forward rather than a midfielder then Yoane Wissa (£6m) could be an ideal option. Wissa spearheads the Brentford attack whilst Ivan Toney pushes for a move away so a large proportion of the attacks leads through him. He also scored and assisted in his opening match which shows he goes into the next round in better form than his teammate mentioned above.
Andreas Pereira – 3.4% Ownership
It has been a poor start to the season for the promoted sides and Ipswich are one of them. The Tractor Boys have lost both of their first matches whilst also shipping five goals. This is the type of form Fulham can take advantage of this week, especially as they go into the match off the back of a 2-1 against newly promoted Leicester.
Whilst many opt for the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Rodrigo Muniz those who like their stats could back midfielder Andreas Pereira (£5.5m). Pereira may not have picked up any returns yet but the data he has been producing suggests it could come soon. In fact, no other player in the league has created more crosses (12) or chances (six). He also takes his sides penalties which gives him added appeal.
Leon Bailey – 3.2% Ownership
Leicester have started the season better than any of the other promoted sides in terms of points earned. However, they have also conceded some concerning defensive metrics as they sit amongst the worst two sides for total attempts and total shots in the box conceded.
The above is a great indication that an Aston Villa attacker could punish them. One of several assets we could pick is Leon Bailey (£6.5m). The Jamaican was fantastic last season – scoring 10 goals and creating nine assists. In fact, having both assist and goal potential going into any given match shows he has multiple routes to points, something every FPL manager looks for.
Sammie Szmodics – 0.3% Ownership
You have to feel for Ipswich. So far they faced both Manchester City and Liverpool in their first two matches so it is very difficult to measure how good they actually are. Either way, they have made some brilliant signings throughout the summer.
One of the new signings mentioned above is Sammie Szmodics (£6m). Being the top scoring player in the Championship isn’t a small feat, the likes of Ivan Toney and Alexander Mitrovic would agree. Those who decided Szmodics wouldn’t make it in the Premier League were quickly quietened after he marked his Premier League debut with a goal against Manchester City.
