Ollie Watkins v Luton
Aston Villa have a great opportunity ahead of them. They face a Luton side who have shipped a huge 13 goals in their last four league games.
Leading the lethal Aston Villa attack is of course Ollie Watkins (£8.8m) who continues to impress. In fact, Watkins has accumulated more points than any other player in FPL at the time of writing.
As we can see below, in the six matches Watkins faced promoted sides in 2021 he hit three double-digit hauls. He also picked up a goal and an assist against them last campaign. Watkins has both form and the head-to-head success to punish Luton this week.
Dominic Solanke v Burnley
Burnley are another promoted side in desperate from. They currently sit 19th in the league after a huge 19 losses and 58 goals conceded.
Taking the above into account it could be another good round for Dominic Solanke. The Bournemouth striker is having his best ever season in the Premier League so far, with 14 goals and three assists already.
Below we can see that, against promoted sides last season (Nottingham Forest and Fulham at the time), he managed more points against them than every other player bar two. His 33 points came from an impressive three goals and two assists in just three starts.
Erling Haaland v Manchester United
Manchester City have a big match against local rivals Manchester United this week. The Champions have netted a huge 16 goals past their upcoming opposition in their last five head-to-heads and one player in particular has been very instrumental in that.
Below we can see all of the players who returned the most points against Manchester United last season. Amongst those players was Erling Haaland who hit 25 points due to three goals and two assists. The Norwegian also managed two goals and one assist against them this season in the reverse fixture.
Martin Odegaard v Sheffield United
Arsenal could not have an easier match on paper this week. The in-form Gooners have a meeting with the worst defence in the league, Sheffield United. The Blades have been woeful for the majority of the campaign but more recently have also conceded 17 goals in their last six league games.
Another player, other than the obvious Bukayo Saka, who could do well in the Gameweek ahead is Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian racked up the joint highest points against all three promoted teams last season. The bulk of his huge 47 points come from five goals.
