FPL Gameweek 25 Best Wildcard Team

Goalkeepers

Bournemouth sit at the top of the fixture ticker for the period ahead, and with no standout goalkeeper elsewhere it could be wise to go for the budget priced Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.5m).

Backing him is West Ham’ Alphonse Areola (£4.2m), who seems to be starting regularly under manager Graham Potter.

Defenders

Liverpool have a double Gameweek ahead and one of the safest routes into the backline for gametime is centre-back Virgil Van Dijk (£6.4m). The Dutchman also has attacking threat from set pieces.

Arsenal have underperformed on many peoples expectations defensively this season. However, they rank the best in the league for total big chances conceded, so adding the likes of Gabriel (£6.3m), who is one of the most dangerous defenders in the league in terms of goal threat.

Aston Villa’ double Gameweek makes their assets a lot more appealing. Among their defenders, Lucas Digne (£4.6m) could be the standout. Only one other defender has produced more big chances than him this season.

West Ham rank high on the ticker for the period ahead and also play in Blank Gameweek 29. Maintaining impressive distribution stats recently could make Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.5m) their most exciting option offensively.

Ranking joint top for total clean sheets this season so far suggests selecting a Nottingham Forest defender could be a rewarding move. Murillo (£4.7m) is one of the cheapest routes into the backline.

Midfielders

Chelsea face some great fixtures ahead, including two promoted sides. With that in mind and their impressive attacking data, sticking with talisman and penalty taker Cole Palmer (£11.2m) could be a smart play.

Proving themselves on multiple occasions offensively is Aston Villa. The double ahead could also suggesting backing them in attack beneficial. Morgan Rogers (£5.6m) goes into the period ahead having managed three returns in his previous five matches.

Brentford’ fixtures ahead are fantastic from an attacking perspective. Arguably their best attacking option, penalty taker and talisman Bryan Mbeumo (£7.9m) has been one of the best assets in the game so far for points.

Another side who play in Blank Gameweek 29 and have brilliant fixtures to attack ahead is Bournemouth. The Cherries have netted nine goals in their previous three matches, and heavily involved in that was penalty taker Justin Kluivert (£5.9m).

Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) needs no introduction. The Egyptian has a double Gameweek ahead and has been the most consistent and explosive asset in the game this season.

Forwards

Aston Villa’ face a double Gameweek and several ropey defences ahead. Spearheading Unai Emery’ frontline is Ollie Watkins (£8.9m). Watkins has returned in three of his last four league games, but picked up a minor injury recently, which could be worth monitoring.

Dominating every other side in the league for attacking metrics is Liverpool. The Reds have been extremely consistent offensively this campaign, so doubling up on their attack with the in-form Cody Gakpo (£7.6m) could bring success.

Brentford have great fixtures and rank among the top six teams for total goals scored this season. For that reason, and fact they play in Blank Gameweek 29, it could be beneficial to double up on their attack with Yoane Wissa (£6.3m).
